Jacques Desrosiers
Jacques Desrosiers (July 8, 1938 – June 11, 1996) was a Québécois Canadian singer and actor. Desrosiers was best known for playing the clown Patof in the Canadian television series ''Patofville''. He was born in Montreal, Quebec. Early career Son of the comic comedian Pierre Desrosiers and brother of singers André Fontaine and Édouard Desrosiers (Édouard would later become a politician), Jacques Desrosiers begins in 1956 as imitator and cabaret artist on CBC/Radio-Canada television. He soon presents his shows, mixing fanciful songs, parodies and imitations, in the cabarets of Quebec, particularly at the Montreal Casa Loma.Jacques Desrosiers, ''Millionnaire'' (1981). Gilles Latulippe
Gilles Latulippe CM CQ (31 August 1937 – 23 September 2014) was a Québécois actor, comedian and theatre director and manager. Latulippe was a central figure in the history of comic theatre in Quebec. In 1998, he was named Quebec's favourite actor by the daily tabloid ''Le Journal de Montréal''. Career He was born in Montreal in 1937. Latulippe joined Yvon Deschamps and studied theatre under François Rozet. He met Paul Buissonneau who offered him his first roles. He was noticed by Gratien Gélinas who gave him a part in ''Bousille et les justes'' in 1959. During the 1960s, Latulippe became a star of the cabaret and comic theatre scene in Montreal while beginning a successful television career. In 1967, he founded the ''Théâtre des Variétés of Montreal'', which was filled by happy spectators for 7000 performances. Clémence DesRochers OC (born 23 November 1933) is a Canadian actress, humourist, singer, and author. Life She was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec on 23 November 1933. At the age of 17, she went to Montreal where she entered the normal school. She then attended the conservatoire d'art dramatique, and upon leaving the conservatory had a role in a Radio-Canada drama. In 2009 DesRochers received the Governor General's Performing Arts Award, Canada's highest honour in the performing arts, for her lifetime contribution to broadcasting. She is out as lesbian. In 2009, DesRochers was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Francophone SOCAN Awards held in Montreal. "Tu t'laisses aller" (English: "You Let Yourself Go") is a song written in 1960 by Armenian- French artist Charles Aznavour. History For the first time it was released as a single in 1960 by Barclay Records (with "J'ai perdu la tête" on the B-side). In 1974 a new edition was re-released as a single. The husband drinks alcohol to have the strength to tell his wife everything he thinks about her. He says the worst possible things to her, but then he adds, that a little effort and a smiling face, and things could be just as before. In the end he calls her: "Come close to me. Let yourself go". It was a no. 1 hit in France in 1960, a best-selling record in Belgium in 1960, and returned to the charts in 1962. ''Monsieur Tranquille'' is a character in the Canada, Canadian children's television series ''Patof voyage''. He is well known for the 1977 disco hit ''Ma'm Thibault''. He was portrayed by actor-comedian Roger Giguère. Children's TV shows Mr. Tranquille is first mentioned in the television series ''Patof raconte'' (CFTM-TV, 1975). Played by the soundman Roger Giguère, it's an invisible character and he interacts with the clown Patof by means of sound and music effects. It's only in the series ''Patof voyage'' (CFTM-TV, 1976) that Roger Giguère embodies him as a puppet. Lesley Tranquille (a play on words meaning "leave him alone") quickly wins the heart of the children. A single recorded in January 1977, ''Madame Thibault'' becomes a number one in Quebec.
