Jack Young (cricketer)
John Albert Young (14 October 1912 – 5 February 1993) was an English cricketer, who played for Middlesex and England. His first-class cricket career lasted from 1933 to 1956. The cricket writer, Colin Bateman, commented, "the son of a music hall comic, Jack Young was a theatrical performer and extremely popular with spectators". Life and career Young was born in London, and was a slow left-arm spin bowler, who relied on accuracy and a flat delivery rather than flight. He was on the staff at Middlesex for much of the 1930s, but only came to the fore after World War II. In 1947, he took more than 150 wickets as Middlesex, led by the batting of Denis Compton, Bill Edrich and Jack Robertson, won the County Championship, and he repeated the feat two years later when the Championship was shared with Yorkshire. Jack Young (Gaelic Footballer)
John "Jack" Young (20 October 1887 – 9 February 1965) was an Irish Gaelic footballer who played as a midfielder at senior level for the Cork county team. Young made his first appearance for the team during the 1911 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen for just two championship seasons. During that time he won a set of All-Ireland and Munster winners' medals. At club level Young began his career with Doheny's before later winning two county championship medals with Nils in Cork city. He also played hurling with the St Finbarr's club. Young was the patriarch of a famous Gaelic games family in Cork. Bernard C. "Jack" Young (born June 26, 1954) is an American politician and former mayor of Baltimore, Maryland. A member of the Democratic Party, Young was elected to the Baltimore City Council in 1996 representing Baltimore's second district. In 2010, Young became City Council President following Stephanie Rawlings-Blake taking over as mayor due to the indictment of Sheila Dixon. On April 2, 2019, Young was named acting mayor during the leave of absence by Mayor Catherine Pugh. Following Pugh's resignation on May 2, 2019, Young was fully vested as mayor of the city. In October 2019, Young announced that he was running to retain his position as Mayor in the 2020 election. He lost the Democratic nomination for mayor, despite raising more money than the other candidates. John "Jack" Hardin Young is a trial lawyer who has a reputation for work in election law and electoral recounts. He was on the team of lawyers for the Democratic National Committee during the 2000 Florida election recount and the Bush v. Gore case, and is portrayed in the HBO film "Recount". Jack Young (born 21 October 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Wycombe Wanderers.
