John "Jack" Young was a professional association footballer who played in the Southern Football League for Bristol Rovers F.C., Bristol Rovers. He was signed from Kilmarnock F.C., Kilmarnock in May 1906, where he had become known as a clever and pacey Forward (association football), forward, and spent the 1906–07 Southern Football League, 1906–07 season with Bristol Rovers before leaving them to join Notts County F.C., Notts County in 1907. He was Bristol Rovers' top goalscorer during his only season with them, with fourteen goals. Jack Young (Gaelic Footballer)
John "Jack" Young (20 October 1887 – 9 February 1965) was an Irish Gaelic footballer who played as a midfielder at senior level for the Cork county team. Young made his first appearance for the team during the 1911 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen for just two championship seasons. During that time he won a set of All-Ireland and Munster winners' medals. At club level Young began his career with Doheny's before later winning two county championship medals with Nils in Cork city. He also played hurling with the St Finbarr's club. Young was the patriarch of a famous Gaelic games family in Cork. John Young (1895–1952) was an English footballer who played as a defender and left winger for Southend United, West Ham United, Queens Park Rangers and Accrington Stanley. Jack Young (born 21 October 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Wycombe Wanderers. Career Born in Morpeth, Northumberland, Young began his career at Newcastle United at the age of 7, before turning professional in 2019. He moved on loan to Tranmere Rovers in October 2020. After making five appearances, Young returned to Newcastle. In January 2022, Young joined League One club Wycombe Wanderers on loan for the remainder of the season, being recalled by Newcastle in March after just two league appearances. However, he subsequently signed a three-year permanent deal with Wycombe in April 2022. In August 2023 he moved on loan to Scottish club Ayr United, returning to Wycombe in January 2024 following the expiration of his deal. John Albert Young (14 October 1912 – 5 February 1993) was an English cricketer, who played for Middlesex and England. His first-class cricket career lasted from 1933 to 1956. The cricket writer, Colin Bateman, commented, "the son of a music hall comic, Jack Young was a theatrical performer and extremely popular with spectators". Life and career Young was born in London, and was a slow left-arm spin bowler, who relied on accuracy and a flat delivery rather than flight. He was on the staff at Middlesex for much of the 1930s, but only came to the fore after World War II. In 1947, he took more than 150 wickets as Middlesex, led by the batting of Denis Compton, Bill Edrich and Jack Robertson, won the County Championship, and he repeated the feat two years later when the Championship was shared with Yorkshire. Jack Ellis Young (31 January 1925 in Adelaide, South Australia – 28 August 1987 in Adelaide) was a Motorcycle speedway rider who won the Speedway World Championship in 1951 and 1952. John "Jack" Hardin Young is a trial lawyer who has a reputation for work in election law and electoral recounts. He was on the team of lawyers for the Democratic National Committee during the 2000 Florida election recount and the Bush v. Gore case, and is portrayed in the HBO film "Recount". He is widely known for being the first advocate for a statewide recount strategy that could have resulted in a win for Gore.
