Jack Raymond (radio Host)
Jack Raymond (April 23, 1914 – January 30, 1975) was an American radio host who was active from the late 1930s until his death in 1975. As a young man, Raymond briefly attended seminary. At one point, he was engaged to four different women at the same time. During his career in broadcasting, Raymond's most popular shows were "Worth Listening To" (1943-1955 on WISN) and "The Jack Raymond Show" (1957-1975 on fifty stations across the United States). Raymond was also the news commentator for "News of the World" and a narrator on "Family Theater." During his career he worked at many Milwaukee radio stations including WISN, WFOX, WEMP, WRIT, and WYLO. In the 1930s he also worked at WGN in Chicago and WIBU. Raymond died in 1975 from a heart attack. The Jack Raymond Show currently airs at noon and from 11:00-midnight on WCFW and has gained a resurgence in popularity and a cult following. Wisconsin Film Festival
The Wisconsin Film Festival is an annual film festival, founded in 1999. The festival is held every April in Madison, Wisconsin, and has recently been expanded from five days to eights days. The Festival presents a broad range of independent American and world cinema (narrative, documentary, experimental, shorts), restorations and revivals, and locally made pictures from Wisconsin filmmakers. Presented by the University of Wisconsin–Madison's Arts Institute, this is the largest campus-based film festival in the United States. The festival plays in nine theaters, all within walking distance, in the heart of the state's capital city. Eaux Claires, also known as the Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival, is a two-day music and arts festival that took place for four years in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The festival took a year-long hiatus in 2019 but was expected to return in 2020, before being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Eaux Claires was founded in 2015 by Aaron Dessner of The National and Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. During its first four years, the festival was held at Foster Farms in Eau Claire County.
