Jack Notley
John Robert Notley (25 June 1926 — 21 December 1994) was an Irish international rugby union player. Born in Drumsna, County Roscommon, Notley won two Ireland caps in the 1952 Five Nations. He played his rugby with Wanderers as a fly-half, a role that Jack Kyle occupied in the Ireland side, so Notley's international opportunities came out of position, as a fullback against France and centre against Scotland. Notley represented Ireland in a two-day cricket match against Worcestershire in 1958 to became a dual-international. Drumsna
Drumsna ( which translates as ''the ridge of the swimming place'') is a village in County Leitrim, Ireland. It is situated 6 km east of Carrick-on-Shannon on the River Shannon and is located off the N4 National primary route which links Dublin and Sligo. The harbour dates to 1817 and was a hive of commercial waterway activity until the more northern navigation canal to Carrick-on-Shannon was opened in 1850. Today, the waterway is busy with anglers and tourist pursuits in the summer months. History One ancient way of crossing a river was swimming - "ag Snámh" in Irish. The oldest known name for Drumsna is "Snamh-Rathainn", which appears in the Irish Annals at 1148AD. Leinster Towns Cup
The Provincial Towns Cup was established in 1888 and is one of the oldest trophies in existence in Irish rugby union. The trophy itself was purchased in 1892 for £25 from Wests in Dublin and bears the title of Leinster Junior Challenge Cup. In 1925, the Leinster Rugby, Leinster branch of the Irish Rugby Football Union reorganized its junior competitions. The Leinster Junior Challenge Cup became the Provincial Towns Cup.
