John Henry Hall (3 July 1883 – 20 February 1949) was an English professional association football, footballer who played more than 200 games in the Football League as an inside forward or forward (association football), centre forward. Career Hall was born in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. After trials with Nottingham Forest F.C., Nottingham Forest and Mansfield Town F.C., Mansfield Town, he turned professional with Stoke City F.C., Stoke in October 1904. He played more than 50 games in the Football League, scoring 18 goals before joining Brighton & Hove Albion F.C., Brighton & Hove Albion in 1906. He was their leading scorer in the two seasons he spent with the club, with 28 and 26 goals respectively in all competitions. In all domestic league competitions, he scored 38 goals from 67 games in the Southern Football League, Southern League, 6 from 9 in the United League, and 5 from 7 in the Western Football League, Western League. John Edward W. Hall (born 6 May 1885) was an English football player, who later became a manager in the Netherlands. Playing career Born in Tyne Dock, South Shields, he started his playing career with local sides Harton Star and Kingston Villa, before joining Barnsley in 1905. After three seasons with Barnsley, he moved to the Southern League with Brighton & Hove Albion. After spells with Rochdale and his home town club, South Shields, he returned to the Football League with Preston North End in 1910. He played one League game for Lincoln City in 1923–24 before moving to Accrington Stanley, where he made five appearances and scored one goal. John Hughes Hall (1913–2003) was an American architect and industrial designer working in the Modernist style. Hall is best known for his residential works on Massachusetts' Cape Cod which were designed to nestle within, rather than overtake, the natural landscape. Life and career Hughes was born on Long Island. He graduated from Princeton University in 1935. Following graduation he worked as a freelance news reporter in Europe. Hall began visiting Cape Cod, Massachusetts in 1936, and immediately became fascinated by the landscape – enough to purchase an farm compound on Bound Brook Island (no longer an island) in Wellfleet from Katie Dos Passos, wife of the writer John Dos Passos. Jack Wayne Hall (February 28, 1915 – January 2, 1971) was an American labor organizer and trade unionist. He was the Hawaii Regional Director of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union. Early life Hall was born in Ashland, Wisconsin on February 28, 1915. When he was a child, his mother committed suicide. He was raised in Los Angeles by his grandmother. After graduating from Huntington Park High School in 1931, Hall became a merchant seaman and sailed aboard the SS President Hoover. His experience traveling in Asia and witnessing poverty and the effects of colonialism led him to become a communist. Career Hall's first labor strike was the 1934 West Coast waterfront strike as a member of the Sailors Union of the Pacific. Jack Hall (21 March 1910 – 5 May 1970) was an Australian trade unionist and politician who was a Labor Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1956 to 1970, representing the seat of Albany. Hall was born in Mount Malcolm, a short-lived settlement in the Goldfields. He went to school in Albany, and was subsequently employed by Albany Woollen Mills (a textile firm). 'Mad' Jack Hall (John Hall; also known as Crazy Jack Hall) (1672 – 13 July 1716) was an English Jacobite leader and property owner and a Justice of Peace in Northumberland. He was a member of Clan Hall, a Scottish clan of Norman descent and owned the Otterburn Tower in Redesdale, Northumberland; his initials are still carved over a doorway today. Jack Hall (around 1673/7 – 17 December 1707) was an English thief. He is the subject of a traditional British folksong "Jack Hall" (now better known as " Sam Hall", Roud 369). Life Born John Hall to Rebecca and Anthony Hall, a cobbler, in Bishop's Head Court, near Gray's Inn Lane, Holborn, London. His date of birth is uncertain: before he was executed on 17 December 1707 he gave his age as 32, which would indicate that he was born in late 1673, or in 1674, but parish records show he was baptised at St Andrew Holborn on 18 January 1677. He became a chimney sweep (in some accounts he was sold when young to a chimney sweep for a guinea). In later life he became a notorious thief.
