John Elliot (also known as Jack Elliot, John M. Elliot, John M. Elliott and Jack Elliott) (7 May 1914 – 3 January 1972) was an American songwriter, credited with having written more than 600 songs for motion pictures.''The Hour'' (5 January 1972), p. 6. Biography Elliot was born in Gowanda, New York, on 7 May 1914. He was educated at Bennett High School in Buffalo, New York and then worked as an entertainer in vaudeville, nightclubs, and on radio. In 1939, he also worked as a theatre reporter for the Chicago edition of ''Variety'' magazine. He began to write songs in 1940, moved to Hollywood in 1943, and became a member of ASCAP in 1945. Jack subsequently composed songs for over 40 Western movies at Republic Studios alone, most notably for Roy Rogers and Dale Evans films. He was the lyricist for several songs by Harold Spina, including "It's So Nice To Have A Man Around The House" (made famous by Dinah Shore). John Denis Elliott (15 April 1922 – 4 November 2007), known for most of his life as Jack, was an Australian horse racing journalist and commentator. Early life Elliott was born in Essendon, a suburb of Melbourne, in 1922, during a period in Australia's history represented by particularly hard economic times. His parents, John William Elliott and Mary Ann Elliott were living in a shared house in Essendon in 1919 but with the imminent arrival of a new baby moved to a small cottage of their own. In 1935 he enrolled at St. Joseph's College, North Melbourne and gained his Intermediate Certificate there two years later. During World War Two, Elliott served as a Warrant officer in the 2nd Australian Infantry Battalion. He was demobilised in May 1946 after completing his duty with the 2/33rd Battalion (Australia). Irwin Elliott Zucker (August 6, 1927 – August 18, 2001) was an American television and film composer, conductor, music arranger, television producer, and co-founder of the New American Orchestra, later renamed the American Jazz Philharmonic. Life and career Elliott was born Irwin Elliott Zucker in Hartford, Connecticut. He was of Romanian Jewish descent. Elliott graduated from the Hartt School of Music and worked as a jazz pianist in New York and Paris in the 1950s. He continued his post-graduate studies in composition with Arnold Franchetti, Isadore Freed, Bohuslav Martinů, and Lukas Foss, but it was Judy Garland who brought Elliott to California to become an arranger for her television show. Ramblin' Jack Elliott (born Elliot Charles Adnopoz; August 1, 1931) is an American folk singer and songwriter. Life and career Elliott was born in 1931 in Brooklyn, New York, United States, the son of Florence (Rieger) and Abraham Adnopoz, an eminent doctor. His family was Jewish. He attended Midwood High School in Brooklyn and graduated in 1949. Elliott grew up inspired by the rodeos at Madison Square Garden, and wanted to be a cowboy. Encouraged instead to follow his father's example and become a surgeon, Elliott rebelled, running away from home at the age of 15 to join Col. Jim Eskew's Rodeo, the only rodeo east of the Mississippi. They traveled throughout the Mid-Atlantic states and New England. Jack Elliott (born 25 August 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer. Youth Elliott was born in London, England to Scottish parents. Attending Wilson's School in Wallington, he spent a year playing for Fulham at the age of 12 before being scouted by West Virginia University whilst playing in the Surrey Senior Cup. Playing career College and amateur Elliott played four years of college soccer at West Virginia University between 2013 and 2017. Jack Elliott (born Ray Baldy) is a radio personality in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He began his broadcast career in the early 1970s working at smaller radio stations in the suburban Chicago area where he was born. He graduated from Columbia College Chicago with Bachelor of Arts degree in radio and television communications. In 1976, Elliott went to Phoenix, Arizona, where he worked at the radio station KRIZ. His eventual departure from Phoenix was prompted by the sale of the radio station in 1978. He was offered an on-air position with WKY in Oklahoma City, where he stayed for 12 years, through several format changes. In 1990, he was fired from WKY as another format change was about to happen. He said the firing was the "best thing to ever happen" to him. Three weeks later, he began doing a two-person morning radio show on KOQL FM in Oklahoma City, then an oldies station, with long-time acquaintance Ron Williams.
