John Joseph Aloysius Connors (21 August 1927 – 2006) was an English footballer who played as a wing half in the Football League for Darlington and in non-league football for Stockton and Corby Town. Connors played football for hometown club Stockton, before opening his Darlington career playing at outside left in a 3–1 defeat at home to Lincoln City in the Third Division North in February 1948. He soon resumed his preferred position at left half, but had to compete with Guy Wharton and Norman Parsley for the place.. Jack Stuart Connors (born 24 October 1994) is an Irish footballer who plays as a defender for Chesham United. Connors started his career in the youth system of Fulham before joining Dagenham & Redbridge in 2011 to sign a two-year scholarship. In 2012, he joined Isthmian League Premier Division side Hendon F.C., Hendon on work experience. After completing his scholarship, he signed a professional contract with Dagenham & Redbridge in 2013. He co-founded Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos, Inc. in 1968, which grew to become one of the leading advertising agencies in the United States, working with prominent clients like Bank of America, Massachusetts Lottery, and Dunkin' Donuts. In 2021, he left his office in the John Hancock Tower. Beyond his business work, Connors was active in philanthropic endeavors, particularly in healthcare in Boston. As chairman of the board of trustees at Partners HealthCare (now Mass General Brigham), he played a crucial role in advancing the largest healthcare provider in Massachusetts. John Connors VC (October 1830 – 29 January 1857) was born in Duagh, Listowel, County Kerry, Ireland and was an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Details Connors was approximately 24 years old, and a private in the 3rd Regiment of Foot (later The East Kent Regiment (The Buffs)), British Army during the Crimean War when the following deed took place for which he was awarded the VC. On 8 September 1855 at Sebastopol in the Crimea, Private Connors showed conspicuous gallantry at the assault on the Redan in personal conflict with the enemy.
