Jack Carroll (born 18 October 1998) is an English comedian and actor. He competed in the Britain's Got Talent (series 7), seventh series of ''Britain's Got Talent'' at the age of 14, finishing as the runner-up. As an actor, he appeared in two series of the CBBC (TV channel), CBBC series ''Ministry of Curious Stuff'' and from 2014 to 2018, he starred in the Sky One, Sky sitcom ''Trollied''. Carroll, whose cerebral palsy is often a subject of his act, won a Pride of Britain award in 2012. Comedy career In 2010, at the age of 12, Carroll came to comedian Jason Manford's attention when he saw a video of Carroll performing at his parents' wedding anniversary. At Manford's invitation, Carroll gave a short performance at the start of Manford's live show in front of more than 1,400 people at St George's Hall, Bradford, St. George's Hall in Bradford. Jack Carroll (born November 9, 1942) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1995 to 1999. Background Carroll was educated at the University of Toronto, and worked as a high school teacher. He also served as an executive of General Motors of Canada Ltd., and owned a car dealership. Politics In the 1995 provincial election, Carroll was elected in the riding of Chatham—Kent over Liberal Mike Ferguson by 546 votes and New Democrat incumbent Randy Hope. He served as a backbench supporter of Mike Harris's government for the next four years, and was a parliamentary assistant from 1996 to 1999. Jack Carroll (1921–1998) is an Irish hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the Offaly senior hurling team. Carroll made his first appearance for the team during the 1943 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1953 championship. During that time he enjoyed little success as Offaly were regarded as one of the minnows of provincial hurling. At club level Carroll was a five-time county club championship medalist with Coolderry. Jack the Bulldog is the official mascot of the Georgetown University Hoyas athletic teams. The school has employed at least eight live Bulldogs as mascots, and counts seven named Jack since 1962, when the name first came into use, including three who are still living. The current incarnation of Jack, who will be taking over from his predecessor during the 2019–20 academic year, is an English Bulldog born in 2019 whose full name is John F. Carroll. Recent bulldogs have come from the Georgetown alumni family of Janice and Marcus Hochstetler. Jack was not always the name of the Georgetown Hoyas' mascot, nor was the mascot always a bulldog, as other types of dogs, particularly bull terriers, were associated with the sports teams before 1962.
