John Daniel Bailey (born August 27, 1965) is a Republican Party (United States), Republican member of the Maryland Senate from the Maryland Legislative District 29, 29th district, based in Calvert County, Maryland, Calvert County and St. Mary's County, Maryland, St. Mary's County. Early life and career Bailey was born in Elkton, Maryland on August 27, 1965. He attended St. Mary's Ryken High School in Leonardtown, Maryland and attended the Mount St. Mary's University and Johns Hopkins University, where he earned a B.S. degree in management in 2013 and a M.S. degree in management in 2014. From 1991 to 2017, he worked as a conservation officer for the Maryland Natural Resources Police. In March 2018, Bailey declared his candidacy for Maryland Senate, seeking a primary challenge to senator Stephen Waugh (politician), Stephen Waugh, who was a target of Governor of Maryland, Governor Larry Hogan for voting with Senate President Thomas V. Maryland, Maryland's Legislative District 29 is one of 47 districts in the state for the Maryland General Assembly. It covers parts of Calvert County, Maryland, Calvert County and St. Mary's County, Maryland, St. Mary's County. The district is divided into three sub-districts for the Maryland House of Delegates: Maryland House of Delegates District 29A, District 29A, Maryland House of Delegates District 29B, District 29B and Maryland House of Delegates District 29C, District 29C.
