Jaan Kalla
Jaan Kalla (also Jaan Kala; 9 May 1889, in Ahja Parish (now Põlva Parish), Kreis Dorpat – ?) was an Estonian politician. He was a member of I Riigikogu, representing the Estonian Independent Socialist Workers' Party. He was a member of the Riigikogu since 10 March 1922. He replaced Hans Kruus Hans Johannes Kruus (22 October 1891 – 30 June 1976) was an Estonian historian, academic and politician. As well as sitting in the Estonian parliament and the Supreme Soviet of the Estonian SSR, he was Deputy Prime Minister of Estonia in 1940 .... Põlva Parish
Põlva Parish ( et, Põlva vald) is a rural municipality in Põlva County, southeastern Estonia. On 1 January 2009, it had a population of 3,882 and an area of 228.63 km². In October 2013, the town of Põlva (formerly a separate municipality) was merged into Põlva Parish, becoming the centre of it. In 2017, as part of the administrative reform, the neighbouring Ahja, Laheda, Mooste and Vastse-Kuuste parishes were merged with Põlva Parish. Kreis Dorpat
Kreis Dorpat (''Tartu kreis'', ''Дерптский уезд'', 1893-1918 ''Юрьевский уезд'') was one of the nine subdivisions of the Governorate of Livonia of the Russian Empire. It was situated in the northeastern part of the governorate (in present-day eastern Estonia). Its capital was Tartu (''Dorpat''). The territory of Kreis Dorpat corresponds to the present-day Tartu County, most of Jõgeva County, parts of Põlva and Valga counties and a small part of Ida-Viru County. Hans Johannes Kruus (22 October 1891 – 30 June 1976) was an Estonian historian, academic and politician. As well as sitting in the Estonian parliament and the Supreme Soviet of the Estonian SSR, he was Deputy Prime Minister of Estonia in 1940 and Foreign Minister of the Estonian SSR between 1944 and 1950. He was also Rector of the University of Tartu in 1940–41 and in 1944.
