JAXART Records
JAXART Records is a Southern California based record label founded in 2007 by Ashley Jex of the MP3 blog Rock Insider. The label began releasing vinyl and digital albums for artists from Southern California and beyond. JAXART Records has since released vinyl singles for artist such as Mezzanine Owls, The Henry Clay People, The Parson Red Heads, RACES (Debut LP Out Mar. 27th via Frenchkiss Records), Steffaloo, Sevendys, Polls, and more. The Henry Clay People
The Henry Clay People was an American indie rock and punk band, formed by brothers Joey and Andy Siara. History Joey and Andy Siara began playing with current drummer Eric Scott in 2002 under the name "Vallejo by Knife," which they changed in 2005 to The Henry Clay People. They have toured the United States multiple times, and have performed at Lollapalooza, SXSW, Austin City Limits Festival, Coachella, Riot Fest, Sasquatch Music Festival, and Bunbury Music Festival In March 2010, original drummer Eric Scott rejoined the band for the summer 2010 U.S. Tour with Silversun Pickups and Against Me! Frenchkiss Records is an independent record label based in New York City. The label was started in 1999 by Syd Butler, bassist and founder of Les Savy Fav. The label's first purpose was to release Les Savy Fav's second album '' The Cat and The Cobra'', but has since been the label responsible for discovering a varying array of artists such as The Hold Steady, The Antlers, The Dodos, Local Natives and Passion Pit. The label has recently added a music publishing side as well, Frenchkiss Publishing. The company was acquired by The Orchard in September 2014. Sevendys is a collaborative musical project featuring rock musicians of several generations. The Smell
The Smell is an all-ages, alcohol and drug-free, punk rock and experimental music venue in Downtown Los Angeles, California. The Smell, notable for its DIY ethic, is home to many of the area's avant-garde performers and artists. The venue is maintained by Jim Smith, one of the four original organizers of the club, and a number of volunteers. The Smell continues in the tradition of Los-Angeles-based underground clubs such as The Masque and Jabberjaw. Aside from its primary function as a live music and performance art space, The Smell hosts a library, a vegan snack bar and a gallery space. Pehrspace was an Indie music venue and art gallery situated in Historic Filipinotown, Los Angeles. It was founded in 2006 by Adam Hervey and Darren King, and was later owned and operated by Pauline Lay.
