J. M. A. Hannan
J. M. A. Hannan is the founder chairman and professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, North South University, Dhaka, Bangladesh and the Department of Pharmacy, Independent University, Bangladesh. He is currently the dean of the School of Pharmacy and Public Health at Independent University Bangladesh. He has over 17 years of teaching and research experience. He has published a textbook on pharmaceutical statistics the only of its kind published by a Bangladeshi author. Education In 1991, Hannan graduated from Jahangirnagar University in Dhaka, with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree, and the next year completed a Master of Pharmacy degree from the same university. North South University
North South University ( bn, নর্থ সাউথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, also known as NSU) is a private university based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Its business school is the first Bangladeshi university to receive American accreditation from the ACBSP in 2015. Campus The university's campus is located at Bashundhara Residential Area in Dhaka. It is one of the largest private universities in Bangladesh, in terms of student population. The foundation of the campus was laid on 30 January 2003 by Begum Khaleda Zia. Dhanmondi ( bn, ধানমন্ডি) is a residential area in Dhaka, Bangladesh, known for its central location, cultural vibrancy and being home to the country's founder, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The origins of Dhanmondi can be traced back to the late 1950s, when the Government of East Pakistan developed it as a centrally planned and residential area to house the city's top bureaucrats. BIRDEM, the Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders at Shahbag, Dhaka, Bangladesh, is a 600-bed multidisciplinary hospital complex of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh. The hospital was established in 1980 with the financial support of Bangladesh. In BIRDEM, 3,000 patients are treated in the Out Patients Department (OPD) every day. No other hospital in Bangladesh serves so many diabetes patients. History The Diabetic Association for Pakistan (later Bangladesh Diabetic Association) was formed under the leadership of national professor Muhammad Ibrahim in February 1956.
