Ivar Aminoff
Ivar (Iwar) Aminoff (2 December 1868 — 15 August 1931) was a Finnish lawyer and politician. He was the Minister of Defence for 82 days in the spring of 1924, from 11 March to 31 May 1924. He worked as a lawyer in Turku from 1892 to 1916. He served as secretary of the county of Turku and Pori County and was the acting governor in 1918. He also served on the Turku City Council 1904–1912 and was its vice-president in 1908. He had also owned the manor Tenala in Lemu from 1900. Aminoff Family
The Aminoff family ( rus, Аминовы/Аминевы) is a Swedish-Finnish noble family of Russian origin ("Russian bayors"). Overview The family originated with boyars from Veliky Novgorod and hails from the clan of Ratsha, a court servant (''tiun'') to Prince Vsevolod II of Kiev. Later it split in two branches: the Russian and Nordic. The Russian Aminovs were a lineage of the Kuritsyn boyar family, who, in turn, were offspring of the Novgorodian Kamensky clan. The Russian branch is thought to be extinct. It is assumed that the family originates from Bohemia. The Nordic branches and their members reside in Sweden and in Finland, and its genealogy branches are represented in Sweden's and Finland's Houses of Nobility. Turku
Turku ( ; ; sv, Åbo, ) is a city and former capital on the southwest coast of Finland at the mouth of the Aura River, in the region of Finland Proper (''Varsinais-Suomi'') and the former Turku and Pori Province (''Turun ja Porin lääni''; 1634–1997). The region was originally called Suomi (Finland), which later became the name for the whole country. Tenala
Tenala ( fi, Tenhola) is a former municipality in Uusimaa, Finland. It was neighboured by Hanko, Kisko, Perniö, Pohja, Särkisalo and Ekenäs. The municipality was established in 1329. The stone church of Tenala was built in late 15th century and the paintings on the piers are from the 17th century. The bell tower of the church was renovated in 1762. In 1988, Tenala had 2991 inhabitants living in an area of 443.6 km2 and 86.96% of the inhabitants spoke Swedish as their native language. In 1993, the municipality consolidated with Ekenäs. In 2009, Tenala became a part of the newly established city of Raseborg.
