Isabella Grant
Isabella Grant (born 21 September 2001) is an Australian rules footballer playing for in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She was drafted with the forty-seventh selection in the 2020 AFL Women's draft by the under the Father-daughter rule. She was educated at Caulfield Grammar School. Early football Grant began her junior career at Spotswood Football Club in the Western Region Football League in 2016. She played in the Under 15 girls division, and then continued playing for the next four years, where she won three premierships and a best and fairest medal, won while playing in the Under 15s division. She kicked 12 goals for her club in 2017, the highest out of anyone playing in the team. She was also nominated for the U18 best and fairest award in 2017. Grant began playing for the Western Jets in the NAB League in 2019. She played 6 games and kicked 1 goal, while averaging17.2 disposals a game. Western Jets
The Western Jets is an Australian rules football club which plays in the Victorian premier U19 competition, the NAB League, since its inception in 1992. The club have developmental squads in the U16, however much of the attention is towards its U18 team. The club is geographically set in Melbourne's West as part of a decision by AFL Victoria (formerly Football Victoria) to have clubs in all regions of the state. The club trains in Melbourne's inner west at Crofts Reserve in Altona North and plays NAB League matches at Burbank Oval in Williamstown. Their current coach is Robbie Chancellor, who replaced Ryan O’Keefe at the end of the 2020 season. Western Bulldogs (AFLW) Players
The Western Bulldogs are a professional Australian rules football team that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport's premier competition. Founded in 1877 as the Footscray Football Club, and based in West Footscray in the old City of Footscray west of Melbourne, the club won nine premierships in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) before gaining admission to the Victorian Football League (which became the AFL in 1990) in 1925. The 2021 AFL Women's season was the fifth season of the AFL Women's competition, the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia. 2019 AFL Women's Under 18 Championships
The 2019 NAB AFL Women's Under-18 Championships was played between May and July 2019, with six teams competing in the main 'Series 2' round-robin tournament and with a further four playing in a two-match one-on-one exhibition as the competition's initial 'Series 1' tournament. Format The competition was opened with 'Series 1', a set of closed competitions between four pairs of teams representing the country's eight largest states and territories. In 'Series 2', teams representing Vic Country, Vic Metro, Queensland and Western Australia were joined by Central and Eastern Allies teams representing teams of the combined regions of Northern Territory and South Australia (Central) as well as New South Wales, ACT and Tasmania (Eastern). Western Region Football League
The Western Region Football League is an Australian rules football semi-professional league, based in the western suburbs of Melbourne, for both seniors and juniors. History The league was formed in 1931 as the "Footscray District Football League". During the 1950s, the VFL club Footscray was financially backing the competition, so they decided to bar clubs that were inside the zone. This resulted in six clubs leaving. More changes occurred in 1952 as the league decided that clubs had to provide an under-18 competition; this action reduced the club numbers down to twelve. The next initiative was the introduction of an under-16 competition in 1954. The NAB League Boys (also referred to as simply the NAB League and formerly known as the TAC Cup) is an under-19 Australian rules football representative competition held in Australia. Father–son Rule
The father–son rule is a rule that allows clubs preferential recruiting access to the sons of players who have made a major past contribution to the club in Australian rules football, most notably in the Australian Football League.
