Elitzur Ashkelon ( he, אליצור אשקלון) was a professional basketball team based in Ashkelon in south-west Israel. The team reached the quarterfinals of the EuroCup Challenge in 2006 EuroBasket and also won the 2006 League Cup. The team dissolved in 2017. Liga Leumit ( he, ליגה לאומית, lit. ''National League'') is the second tier level league of basketball competition in Israel. It is the league level that is below the first tier Israeli Basketball Premier League, Israeli Premier League. League system The league contains 15 clubs that compete in a home-and-away Round-robin tournament, round-robin. At the end of the season, the top eight clubs advance to the play-offs. The first round is played on a best-of-three basis. The four winning clubs advance to two best-of-five playoffs, the winners of which are promoted to the Super League. The two teams that finish at the bottom of the table are relegated to Liga Artzit (basketball), Liga Artzit. Paul Anthony Jones III (born July 3, 1989) is an American professional basketball player. Standing at 1.98 m (6'6"), he plays the small forward position. After two years at Whatcom Community College and Western Washington College each, Jones entered the 2013 NBA draft but was not selected in the draft's two rounds. High school career Jones played high school basketball at Kent-Meridian High School, in Kent, Washington. Omar Shariff Sneed (born October 9, 1976) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for the Beaumont Panthers of The Basketball League (TBL). A Texas native, Sneed played high school basketball at West Brook in Beaumont. He then played two years in junior college at San Jacinto, being named a first team NJCAA All-American. He played his junior and senior seasons in the NCAA Division I with the Memphis Tigers, being a two-time all-conference selection. After going undrafted in the 1999 NBA draft, Sneed started his professional career in Colombia. Andrius Jurkūnas (born 21 May 1976) is a Lithuanian professional basketball coach and former player. Playing career Jurkūnas played for Clemson University, which he attended from 1995 to 2000.
