Wendell McKines (born August 18, 1988) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Maccabi Ra'anana of the Israeli National League. He is known for his moniker as Mr. Wednesday. High school career Born in Oakland, California, McKines averaged 35.0 points, 15.0 rebounds and 3.4 blocks as a senior for Richmond High School, and led the RHS Oilers to a 22-9 finish and a North Coast Section Division II Championship in 2007. The 2012 NBA draft was held on June 28, 2012, at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The draft started at 7:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time (2300 UTC), and was broadcast in the United States on ESPN. Sam Lacey
Samuel Lacey (March 28, 1948 – March 14, 2014) was an American basketball player. He spent the majority of his career with the Royals/Kings franchise. Lacey was selected as an all-star while playing for the Kings in 1975, and eventually had his number 44 retired by them. College career Lacey was a center who played college basketball at New Mexico State University. The Aggies had a combined record of 74–14 during his three seasons there. In the 1969–70 post-season, he and star guard Jimmy Collins led the Aggies to their first and only Final Four appearance. The Aggies defeated Rice University, Kansas State University and Drake University before falling to eventual national champion UCLA. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) is an NCAA Division I conference. The WAC covers a broad expanse of the western United States with member institutions located in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Utah, Washington (state), Washington, and Texas. 2012 WAC Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2012 WAC men's basketball tournament, was held March 7–10, 2012 at the Orleans Arena in Paradise, Nevada, United States to crown a champion of the Western Athletic Conference. The winner of the tournament received an automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA tournament. The 2012 Championship game was televised on ESPN2 at 9:00 pm Pacific Time. Format With the departure of Boise State to the Mountain West Conference, WAC Commissioner Karl Benson announced during the basketball preseason teleconferences that the league would change its postseason basketball tournament to a regular quarterfinal format, getting rid of the double-bye format used in 2011. This format was to be used for 2012 only; the format was to be re-evaluated for 2013 after new five new teams came in and three schools departed for a total of 10 participating institutions in 2012–13. WAC Men's Basketball Tournament
The Western Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament is the conference championship tournament in men's basketball for the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Even though the WAC was founded in 1962, the annual tournament has only been held since 1984. The winner of the tournament is guaranteed a spot in the NCAA basketball tournament every year. Format and host The event has alternated between being hosted at campus sites and neutral sites throughout its history. From the inaugural event in 1984 until 1992 the regular season champion hosted the tournament, but in 1993 and 1994 the event was held at the Delta Center (now Vivint Arena) in Salt Lake City which, although located less than five miles from then-conference member Utah's campus, was considered a neutral site.
