Iowa Senate, District 30
The 30th District of the Iowa Senate is located in northern Iowa, and is currently composed of Worth, Cerro Gordo, and Mitchell Counties, as well as part of Floyd County. Current elected officials Eric Giddens is the senator currently representing the 30th District. The area of the 30th District contains two Iowa House of Representatives districts: *The 59th District (represented by Bob Kressig) *The 60th District (represented by Dave Williams) The district is also located in Iowa's 1st congressional district, which is represented by Ashley Hinson. Pat Ward (politician)
Petricia S. "Pat" Ward (June 17, 1957 – October 15, 2012) was an Iowa State Senator from the 30th District. A Republican, her service in the Iowa Senate began in 2004, when she won a special election to fill the vacancy left when Mary Kramer was appointed to be U.S. Ambassador to Barbados. It ended with her death in 2012. She had a B.S. in Business and Legal Studies from Central Missouri State University. Mary Kramer
Mary E. Kramer (born June 14, 1935) is an American former politician. A member of the Republican Party, she served as an Iowa State Senator from 1990 to 2003. She was elected President of the Senate in 1997, becoming the first independently elected woman to fill the post. In 2003 Kramer was nominated by President George W. Bush to serve as U.S. Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean; she was confirmed by the United States Senate and served from 2004 to 2006. Ashley Elizabeth Hinson (born June 27, 1983) is an American politician and journalist serving as the U.S. representative for Iowa's 1st congressional district since 2021. Her district comprises much of the northeast quadrant of the state, including Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Cedar Falls, and Dubuque. A member of the Republican Party, Hinson was the Iowa State Representative for the 67th district from 2017 to 2021, the first woman to represent the district. Bob Kressig (born December 31, 1953, in Dubuque, Iowa) is the Iowa State Representative from the 75th District. He has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since January 2005.
