Art Staed
Art Staed (born 1949) is a current Iowa State Representative from the 80th District. A Democrat, he was in the Iowa House of Representatives for one term, from 2007 to 2009, before being elected again in 2013. Staed holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, a Master's degree in Secondary Education from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and another master's degree in Secondary Administration from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. Staed served on several committees in the Iowa House – Education, Labor, and Veterans Affairs. Iowa General Assembly
The Iowa General Assembly is the legislative branch of the state government of Iowa. Like the federal United States Congress, the General Assembly is a bicameral body, composed of the upper house Iowa Senate and the lower Iowa House of Representatives respectively. The Senate consists of four year terms and the House consists of two year terms. The General Assembly convenes within the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. There are 100 seats in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing 100 single-member districts across the state, formed by dividing the 50 Senate districts in half. Each district has a population of approximately 30,464 . The House of Representatives meets at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. George Raymond Kinley (June 4, 1937 – February 23, 2022) was an American politician in the state of Iowa and a business co-founder and owner. Biography Kinley was born in Akron, Ohio. He moved with his family to Des Moines, Iowa, and graduated from Dowling Catholic High School in Des Moines. Kinley graduated from Drake University, in 1960, with a bachelor's degree in sociology. Dorothy F. Carpenter (; March 13, 1933 – April 2, 2011) was an American politician. She was a Republican member of the Iowa House of Representatives from 1980 to 1994. Early life Carpenter was born on March 13, 1933, in Ismay, Montana. Her parents were Daniel A. Fulton and Mary Ann Fulton (née George). She grew up on a ranch assisting her father.
