Dan Gehlbach
Dan Gehlbach (born 1977) is an American politician, small business owner, former teacher and former auditor who has represented the 46th district in the Iowa House of Representatives since January 2023, which consists of parts of northwest Dallas County and parts of Grimes and Urbandale in Polk County. He is a member of the Republican Party. Early life and education Gehlbach was born in 1977 in Des Moines, Iowa, and was raised in Urbandale, Iowa. He graduated from Urbandale High School and attended the University of Kansas, where he received a Bachelor of Science, and Arizona State University, where he received a Master of Business Administration. Political career Gehlbach unsuccessfully ran for a seat on the Waukee Community School District Board in 2015. He ran again in 2019 and was elected its vice president. Iowa General Assembly
The Iowa General Assembly is the legislative branch of the state government of Iowa. Like the federal United States Congress, the General Assembly is a bicameral body, composed of the upper house Iowa Senate and the lower Iowa House of Representatives respectively. The Senate consists of four year terms and the House consists of two year terms. The General Assembly convenes within the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. There are 100 seats in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing 100 single-member districts across the state, formed by dividing the 50 Senate districts in half. Each district has a population of approximately 30,464 . The House of Representatives meets at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. Joan Miller Lipsky
Joan Miller Lipsky (April 9, 1919 – August 18, 2015) was an American attorney and politician who served as a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from 1967 to 1979. Early life and education Lipsky was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After graduating from the Gulf Park Academy for Women in Mississippi, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Northwestern University. Career Lipsky attended graduate school at Iowa State University. She was a staff psychologist at the University of Chicago Medical Center and later worked as a private practice consulting psychologist. She served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1967 to 1979 as a Republican. During her final term in the House, Lipsky began attending the University of Iowa College of Law. Rod Halvorson
Rodney N. Halvorson (born December 23, 1949) is an Iowa state legislator and political activist in Iowa and his home state of Minnesota. Halvorson was born and raised in Appleton, Minnesota. A Democrat, he served Webster and Calhoun county in the Iowa Senate from 1995 to 1999, representing the 7th District. From 1979 to 1995, he served Fort Dodge and Webster county in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing the 46th and 13th Districts. Jean Hall Lloyd-Jones (born October 14, 1929) is an American activist and politician. Born in Washington, D.C., Lloyd-Jones went to the University of New Mexico. She received her bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and her master's degree from University of Iowa. She was involved with the Iowa Peace Institute and the Iowa League of Women Voters.
