Rod Halvorson
Rodney N. Halvorson (born December 23, 1949) is an Iowa state legislator and political activist in Iowa and his home state of Minnesota. Halvorson was born and raised in Appleton, Minnesota. A Democrat, he served Webster and Calhoun county in the Iowa Senate from 1995 to 1999, representing the 7th District. From 1979 to 1995, he served Fort Dodge and Webster county in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing the 46th and 13th Districts. Biography Halvorson was born and raised in Appleton, Minnesota. After high school, he was a public administration intern at the University of Minnesota and received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Moorhead State University in 1971. North Dakota State University (NDSU, formally North Dakota State University of Agriculture and Applied Sciences) is a public land-grant research university in Fargo, North Dakota. It was founded as North Dakota Agricultural College in 1890 as the state's land-grant university. Jean Hall Lloyd-Jones (born October 14, 1929) is an American activist and politician. Born in Washington, D.C., Lloyd-Jones went to the University of New Mexico. She received her bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and her master's degree from University of Iowa. She was involved with the Iowa Peace Institute and the Iowa League of Women Voters. Berkley Bedell
Berkley Warren Bedell (March 5, 1921 – December 7, 2019) was an American Democratic Party politician and businessman who served as the U.S. representative for Iowa's 6th congressional district from 1975 to 1987. After starting a successful business in his youth, Berkley Fly Co., he ran for Congress in 1972, but was defeated by incumbent Wiley Mayne. In 1974 however, Bedell beat Mayne and was elected to the U.S. House. He was known for his support of representative democracy and his populist style. For example, he would hold town halls and let constituents vote on motions to decide what he would do in Congress on their behalf and these meetings helped Bedell understand the problems of his constituents; as a result, he backed issues that were important to his farming constituency, such as waterway usage fees and production constraints. Michael Sexton (born 5 March 1971) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Carlton between 1990 and 2000 in the Australian Football League.
