Iosif Szökő (18 March 1930 – 2008) was a Romanian footballer of Hungarian descent, who played as a forward for Romania national football team and teams such ICO Oradea and Dinamo București. Club career Born in Marghita, Bihor County, Szökő started his career at the local club, Bihoreana Marghita, a county level side. Marghita
Marghita (; hu, Margitta ; yi, מארגארעטין ''Margaretin'') is a city in Bihor County, Romania. It administers two villages, Cheț (''Magyarkéc'') and Ghenetea (''Genyéte''). Geography Marghita is located in the northern part of the county, north-east of the county seat, Oradea. It lies on the banks of the river Barcău, extending to the border with Satu Mare County; the river Inot discharges into the Barcău in Marghita. The city borders the following communes: Viișoara and Abram to the east, Tăuteu to the south, Petreu and Buduslău to the west, and Sălacea and Pir to the north. The 1954 Cupa României was the 17th edition of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. The trophy was won by Metalul Reșița for the first time in history. It was also the first time when a team from the second division of Romanian football won the trophy. Format The competition is an annual knockout tournament. In the first round proper, two pots were made, first pot with Divizia A teams and other teams till 16 and the second pot with the rest of teams qualified in this phase. First pot teams will play away. Each tie is played as a single leg.
