Intermission (band)
Intermission is a German Eurodance project, which was successful in Europe from 1993 to 1996. The biggest hit "Piece of My Heart" was released in late 1993. Behind Intermission was the Dance Music Production (DMP), a German producer team from Frankfurt am Main which compromised Michael Eisele aka Attack II, Thorsten Adler, aka Tom Tom wedge Jacques G. Coin and Jürgen Katzmann. For the first single "Honesty" the team released in 1993, the singer was Nina, who had already vocalized on several hits by Captain Hollywood. The second single "Piece of My Heart "Piece of My Heart" is a romantic soul love song written by Jerry Ragovoy and Bert Berns, originally recorded by Erma Franklin in 1967. Eurodance
Euro-Dance (sometimes referred to as Euro-NRG, Euro-electronica or Euro) is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in the late 1980s in Europe. It combines many elements of hip hop, techno, Hi-NRG, house music, and Euro-Disco. This genre of music is heavily influenced by the use of rich vocals, sometimes with rapped verses. This, combined with cutting-edge synthesizers, strong bass rhythm and melodic hooks, establishes the core foundation of Euro-Dance music. Piece Of My Heart (Intermission Song)
"Piece of My Heart" is a 1993 song by German Eurodance project Intermission. Written by Nosie Katzmann and Tony Dawson-Harrison from Captain Hollywood Project, it was released as the second single from the album by same name (1994). It features vocals by American singer Valerie Scott and uses the interpolated melody of the 1983 song " Send Me An Angel" by Australian band Real Life. The single was a major hit in Europe, peaking within the Top 10 in Austria, Germany and Spain. It spent 12 weeks on the German singles chart. Additionally, it reached number 40 in Switzerland and number 42 in Belgium. On the Eurochart Hot 100, it peaked at number 33 in January 1994. Ö3 Austria Top 40 is the official Austrian singles chart, as well as the radio show which presents it, aired Tuesdays on Hitradio Ö3. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Two parallel sets of charts are concurrently produced and published, one on behalf of Belgium's mainly Dutch-speaking Flanders region, and the other catering to the nation's mainly French-speaking region of Wallonia.
