''Inside Story'' is the eighth studio album by Jamaican singer, songwriter and model Grace Jones, released in November 1986, her first with the Manhattan Records label. The album spawned the hit single " I'm Not Perfect (But I'm Perfect for You)". Production and release Having achieved a major success with the comeback album '' Slave to the Rhythm'' and the best-selling hits compilation ''Island Life'', both in 1985, Grace Jones delivered her next album the following year. Released under her new contract with Manhattan Records, ''Inside Story'' saw Jones working with producer Nile Rodgers of Chic (Jones had previously tried to work with the band during the disco era). Grace Jones
Grace Beverly Jones (born 19 May 1948) is a model, singer and actress. Born in Jamaica, she and her family moved to Syracuse, New York, when she was a teenager. Jones began her modelling career in New York state, then in Paris, working for fashion houses such as Yves St. Laurent and Kenzo, and appearing on the covers of '' Elle'' and ''Vogue''. The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015. This tracking period also applies to compiling online streaming data. Copy Control was the generic name of a copy prevention system, used from 2001 until 2006 on several digital audio disc releases by EMI Group and Sony BMG Music Entertainment in several regions (Europe, Canada, United States, and Australia). It should not be confused with the CopyControl computer software copy protection system introduced by Microcosm Ltd in 1989. Several types of protection existed. While basically intended as a means of copy-protecting compact discs, Copy Control discs cannot properly be referred to as CDs because the system introduces incompatible data, making the discs non-compliant with the Red Book standard for audio CDs. ''Muse'' is the third studio album by Grace Jones, released on September 4, 1979, by Island Records. Production and release ''Muse'' was the last album of Jones's disco trilogy recorded with producer Tom Moulton, which began in 1977 with debut ''Portfolio''. As in the case of two previous records, the first side of the album is a continuous medley of four songs, joined by a narrative about someone who has sinned. The second side, however, consists of disco songs with no lyrical relation to one another. All album art, including the cover image, is by Richard Bernstein. The album features a re-recorded version "I'll Find My Way to You", which Jones released three years prior to ''Muse''. ''Fame'' is the second studio album by Grace Jones, released on 7 June 1978 by Island Records. Background, production and release After relative success with her debut release, Grace Jones and Tom Moulton delivered a rapid follow-up album to ''Portfolio''. ''Fame'', recorded in Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia, consisted of a set of mainstream-oriented disco tracks and repeated the scheme of the previous album. Like on ''Portfolio'', side A was a continuous medley, and side B again opened with a re-interpretation of a French classic, this time it was Jacques Prévert's "Les Feuilles mortes", sung in English as " Autumn Leaves". The album was "dedicated with love to a true Artist, Jean-Paul Goude", as Jones put it in the liner notes.
