''Infest'' is the second studio album and major-label debut by the American rock band Papa Roach. It was released on April 25, 2000, through DreamWorks Records, and became the 20th highest-selling album of 2000 in the United States. The sound of the album is nu metal and rap metal. Many of the album songs contains rapping and hip hop influences. It was certified 3× Platinum in the U.S. on July 18, 2001, and peaked at 5 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. This album earned the band a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. It is their best-selling album to date. Papa Roach got together and performed the album live in studio to stream worldwide on June 20, 2020. The whole performance was released on YouTube on September 15, 2020. Papa Roach is an American rock band from Vacaville, California, formed in 1993. The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist Jacoby Shaddix, guitarist Jerry Horton, drummer Dave Buckner, bassist Will James, and trombonist Ben Luther. After two EPs, James left and was replaced by Tobin Esperance. The band independently released two more EPs before signing with DreamWorks Records in 1999, subsequently releasing the triple-platinum '' Infest'' in 2000, the gold album ''Lovehatetragedy'' in 2002 and the platinum album '' Getting Away with Murder'' in 2004. A year after ''The Paramour Sessions'', Buckner left in 2007, and was replaced by Tony Palermo. "She Loves Me Not" is the first single from rock band Papa Roach's third studio album, ''Lovehatetragedy'', and fourth released single in total. Originally written as part of a five-track promo and demo CD funded by Warner Bros. Records in 1999, "She Loves Me Not" was re-recorded and improved for its new release in 2002. It was left off their first album, '' Infest'' (2000), because the band thought the song was too rock-oriented. The song appeared in the soundtrack for the game ''NHL 2003''. Music video The video for "She Loves Me Not" shows the band playing in a dilapidated theme park which people are using as a social gathering. Old Friends From Young Years
''Old Friends from Young Years'' is the debut studio album by American rock band Papa Roach, self-produced and released on February 4, 1997. This album, along with their other independent demos, were released on the band's now defunct indie label, Onion Hardcore, so named because onion farming is a staple of Papa Roach's hometown, Vacaville, California. The album was co-produced by bassist Tobin Esperance's father, who included an audio recording of Tobin as a child as a bonus track on the album. Fan club edition In 2005, Papa Roach re-released the album exclusively to new members to their fan club, ''P-Roach Riot!''. The fan club edition had a new cover and included a sticker and an official membership card to the fan club. The first 2,000 copies were signed by all four members of the band. The Grammy Award for Best New Artist has been awarded since 1959. Years reflect the year in which the Grammy Awards were handed out, for records released in the previous year. The award was not presented in 1967. The official guidelines are as follows: "For a new artist who releases, during the Eligibility Year, the first recording which establishes the public identity of that artist." Note that this is not necessarily the first album released by an artist; for example, Shelby Lynne won the award in 2001 after having already released six albums over 13 years.
