Impetigore
''Impetigore'' ( id, Perempuan Tanah Jahanam, lit=Woman of the damned land) is a 2019 Indonesian horror film written and directed by Joko Anwar. The film stars Tara Basro, Marissa Anita, Christine Hakim, Asmara Abigail, and Ario Bayu. The film follows Maya (Basro), who travels with her friend Dini (Anita) to her remote ancestral village seeking an inheritance, after being mysteriously attacked. Almost a decade in development, the film was announced in 2011 but was initially shelved. Seven years later, ''Impetigore'' was secured as an international co-production between Indonesian, South Korean and US-based production houses. Filming took place on location at various sites in East Java, facing challenges due to the remoteness of the main village location and Anwar being hospitalised with dengue fever. ''Impetigore'' premiered in Indonesia on 17 October 2019 and internationally at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. It was later acquired by Shudder for international streaming. ...

Joko Anwar
Joko Anwar (born 3 January 1976) is an Indonesian film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. Prior to becoming a filmmaker, he worked as a journalist and film critic. Anwar first rose to prominence for co-writing Nia Dinata's 2003 hit ''Arisan!'' which won five awards at the 2004 Citra Award. He then made his feature film directorial debut with the romantic comedy ''Joni's Promise'' in 2005, gaining a Best Director nomination at the 2005 Citra Award. Marissa Anita (born in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia on 29 March 1983) is an Indonesian journalist, actress and television news presenter. She began her career as a theater actress in 2005, but rose to prominence in 2008 as a TV news reporter and later anchor for Metro TV.
