Imperatriz
Imperatriz is the second most populated city in the northeastern Brazilian state of Maranhão. The city extends along the right bank of the Tocantins River and is crossed by the Belém-Brasília Highway, standing on the border with the state of Tocantins. Functions Imperatriz is the largest commercial crossing point, energy and economic center of Maranhão, the second largest by population and as an economic, political and cultural center in the state, and has a strategic position not only useful to the state but also for the whole north of Brazil. Imperatriz Airport
Imperatriz-Prefeito Renato Moreira Airport is the airport serving Imperatriz, Brazil. It is named after a former mayor of Imperatriz. It is operated by CCR. History Imperatriz has a long tradition of air services, which started with at the end of the 1930s with Syndicato Condor using seaplanes which landed at Tocantins River. At the end of World War II, the first airport with a 1,200m x 30m earth runway was operational but it was subject to flooding during the rainy season. Even so, Cruzeiro do Sul, Real-Aerovias and later Varig maintained regular operations to Imperatriz. Around the end of the 1960s studies were made for a completely new facility and the site of the present airport was chosen. The airport was commissioned in 1973 at the same time that the older facility was closed. It was administrated by Infraero between 1980 and 2021. Maranhão () is a state in Brazil. Located in the country's Northeast Region, it has a population of about 7 million and an area of . Jhulia Rayssa Mendes Leal (born 4 January 2008) is a Brazilian skateboarder who won a silver medal in women’s street skateboarding at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Skateboarding career Leal was born and lives in Imperatriz, the second largest city in Maranhão, and alternates school studies with training. She started training the sport at the age of six, after getting her first skateboard on her 6th birthday, a gift from a family friend. Leal first gained attention at the age of seven in internet videos of her skating in a tutu and jumping off tall structures on her skateboard. Leal's mother filmed the video on September 7, 2015 and sent it to Tony Hawk (the best known skater in the world). Our Lady of Fátima ( pt, Nossa Senhora de Fátima, ); formally known as Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Fátima) is a Catholic title of Mary, mother of Jesus, based on the Marian apparitions reported in 1917 by three shepherd children at the Cova da Iria in Fátima, Portugal. Cerrado
The ''Cerrado'' (, ) is a vast ecoregion of tropical savanna in eastern Brazil, particularly in the states of Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Tocantins, Minas Gerais, and the Federal District.
