Ilona Massey
Ilona Massey (born Ilona Hajmássy, June 16, 1910 – August 20, 1974) was a Hungarian-American film, stage and radio performer. Early life and career She was born in Budapest, Kingdom of Hungary (now in Hungary). Billed as "the new Dietrich", she acted in three films with Nelson Eddy, including '' Rosalie'' (1937), and with Lon Chaney Jr. in ''Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man'' (1943) as Baroness Frankenstein. In 1943, she appeared in the Ziegfeld Follies. In 1947, she starred with Eddy in '' Northwest Outpost'', a musical film composed by Rudolf Friml. In 1949, she starred in ''Love Happy'' with the Marx Brothers. She played Madame Egelichi, a ''femme fatale'' spy, and her performance inspired Milton Caniff in the creation of his ''femme fatale'' spy, Madame Lynx, in the comic strip "Steve Canyon". Irving Fields (born Yitzhak Schwartz; August 4, 1915 – August 20, 2016) was an American pianist and lounge music artist who was born in New York City. Some of his most noteworthy compositions include "Miami Beach Rhumba"; "Managua, Nicaragua"; and "Chantez, Chantez," covered by Dinah Shore in 1957. From November 1, 1954 to January 3, 1955, he and his orchestra appeared on the DuMont Television Network series ''The Ilona Massey Show'', hosted by Ilona Massey. ''Rendezvous'' is an American television program that was the first to have a female spy as its lead character. ''Rendezvous'' debuted on ABC on February 13, 1952, at 9:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) and ended on March 5, 1952. Set in Paris, the 30-minute program starred Ilona Massey as Nikki Angell, who owned and sang at the Chez Nikki nightclub. Angell had been an agent in the French resistance during World War II, and her involvement with the nightclub enabled her to continue her espionage, now focused on defeating the efforts of Communist agents. Additional intrigue came from drug smugglers, thieves, and traitors who showed up at the club. The National Broadcasting Company's NBC Radio Network (known as the NBC Red Network prior to 1942) was an American commercial radio network which was in operation from 1926 through 2004. Along with the NBC Blue Network it was one of the first two nationwide networks established in the United States.
