Hebrew
Hebrew (; ; ) is a Northwest Semitic language of the Afroasiatic language family. Historically, it is one of the spoken languages of the Israelites and their longest-surviving descendants, the Jews and Samaritans. Ilana Karaszyk (also "Karashik"; אילנה קרשיק; born July 1, 1938) is an Israeli former Olympic runner and long jumper. Ilana Kara Diamond Rovner (born August 21, 1938) is a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Rovner was the first woman appointed to the Seventh Circuit. She was previously a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. While an infant, she and her mother immigrated to the United States during World War II from Latvia to escape its occupation by Nazi Germany.
