Igor Kolaković
Igor Kolaković (Игор Колаковић; born 4 June 1965) is a Montenegrin professional volleyball coach and former player. He currently serves as head coach for the Serbia national team. Personal life Igor's wife, Sandra, is a former handball national team player, former head coach of the Serbia women's national handball team. Igor received a bachelor's degree of business administration in 1989 at the University of Montenegro. Aleksa Kolaković, son of Igor, is a handball player. Career As a player Kolakovic played as a setter for Budućnost Podgorica and Partizan Beograd from 1979 to 1997, after which he became a head coach of the Podgorica team. He is two–time Yugoslavian Champion and two–time Yugoslavian Cup winner. As a coach Igor Kolakovic replaced Ljubomir Travica as head coach of the Serbia men's national volleyball team ahead of the 2006 FIVB World Championship, after assisting him for three years. Podgorica
Podgorica (Cyrillic: Подгорица, ; lit. 'under the hill') is the capital and largest city of Montenegro. The city was formerly known as Titograd (Cyrillic: Титоград, ) between 1946 and 1992—in the period that Montenegro formed, as the Socialist Republic of Montenegro in honour of Marshal Josip Broz Tito. The city was largely destroyed during the bombing of Podgorica in World War II and accordingly the city is now dominated by architecture from the following decades of communism. Men's European Volleyball Championship
The Men's European Volleyball Championship (''EuroVolley'') is the official competition for senior men's national volleyball teams of Europe, organized by the European Volleyball Confederation ( CEV). The initial gap between championships was variable, but since 1975 they have been awarded every two years. The current champion is Italy, which won its seventh title at the 2021 tournament. History The first tournament was held in 1948 with participation of six national teams. Being only participant from Eastern Europe, Czechoslovakia captured gold. The teams from Eastern Europe dominated at the tournament for next four decades. The next two editions held in 1950 and 1951 were won by the Soviet Union (who also won two World Championships in 1949 and 1952). Ljubomir Travica
Ljubomir Travica ( sr-cyr, Љубомир Травица; born 1 October 1954) is a Serbian professional volleyball coach and former player. The current head coach of the Tunisian team, ES Tunis. His son Dragan Travica is a volleyball player, former member of the Italy men's national volleyball team. Biography Travica was born in Ervenik and started his career with Mladost Zagreb. In 1980, he participated with Yugoslavia at the 1980 Summer Olympics held in Moscow. He moved to Italy in 1983, and during his career, played for Panini Modena and Padova in Serie A1 (Italy's top division), and Vimercate and Brugherio in Serie A2. In 1991, he started his coaching career in Serie B1 in Valdagno, and subsequently coached different teams in the A1 and A2 divisions, before moving to Olympiacos Piraeus in Greece. Aleksa Kolaković (born 10 August 1997) is a Serbian handball player for Saint-Raphael Var Handball and the Serbian national team. Personal life Aleksa's father, Igor, is currently the coach of the Iran men's national volleyball team, he was also the coach of Serbia men's national volleyball team for 8 years and he won 7 medals. Igor is Bachelor of business administration, graduated in 1989 of University of Montenegro Faculty of Economics. Aleksa's mother, Sandra, was professional handball player, she won champions league with RK Krim in 2001, and she also has a bronze medal from world championship in Italy in 2001 with Yugoslavian women's national handball team. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. The 2019 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship was the twentieth staging of the Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Islamic Republic of Iran Volleyball Federation (IRIVF). 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Grand Champions Cup
The 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Grand Champions Cup was the 7th staging of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup, a quadrennial international men's volleyball tournament organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The tournament was held in Nagoya and Osaka, Japan from 12 to 17 September 2017. 6 national teams from 5 confederations competed in the tournament. Brazil claimed their fourth straight Grand Champions Cup title and fifth overall. Italy and Iran won the silver and the bronze medal respectively. FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup
The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior men's and women's national teams of the members of ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The tournament was created in 1993 after radical changes made on the biggest tournaments organised by the FIVB. The main goal was not to have a single year without two high-profile world-level volleyball competitions, alongside the pre-existing men's and women's world championship, men's and women's world cup and the volleyball tournament at the Olympic Games which are all quadrennial and the annual men's and women's Nations League. The World Grand Champions Cup is therefore played quadrennially the year after the Olympic Games and is always hosted by the Japan Volleyball Association.
