Ice Cross Downhill
Ice cross downhill, (formerly known as Red Bull Crashed Ice, is a winter extreme sporting event which involves direct competitive downhill skating on a walled track featuring sharp turns and high vertical drops. Ice cross downhill is similar to ski cross and boardercross, except with ice skates on an ice track, instead of using skis or snowboards on a snow track. Ice cross is sanctioned by the All Terrain Skate Cross Federation (ATSX). Course configurations and equipment Courses Contestants race down the course's turns, berms, and jumps. After racing one after another in the time trials, typically there are four racers starting each race. Ice Skates
Ice skates are metal blades attached underfoot and used to propel the bearer across a sheet of ice while ice skating. The first ice skates were made from leg bones of horse, ox or deer, and were attached to feet with leather straps. These skates required a pole with a sharp metal spike that was used for pushing the skater forward, unlike modern bladed skates. Modern skates come in many different varieties, which are chosen depending on the nature of the requirements needed for the skating activity. Jacqueline Legere
Jacqueline Legere (born 1991) is a Canadian stuntwoman and icecross downhill athlete currently competing in Red Bull Crashed Ice. During the 2016 season, Legere finished atop the Crashed Ice standings, emerging as the women’s world champion. When not competing in ice cross downhill, Legere is employed as a stuntwoman. Kyle Croxall
Kyle Croxall (born October 26, 1988) is a Canadian Red Bull Crashed Ice (also known as ice cross downhill) racer. In January 2014, he was ranked fourth in the world in the sport. Croxall is a former ice hockey player who played one season with the Mississauga Chargers of the Ontario Junior A Hockey League. Crashed ice career Croxall's ice cross downhill career began while he was going to school for firefighting in Ottawa, Ontario. In 2007, tryouts were being held there. Croxall said, "I had previously seen the sport on TV and wanted to join." Croxall tried out for Crashed Ice and went on to his first race in Quebec City in 2008. The National Ringette League (NRL), ''(french: Ligue Nationale de Ringuette, LNR)'', is the premier sports league for the sport of ringette in North America and Canada's national league for elite ringette players aged 18+.
