Ianis Stoica
Ianis Ilie Stoica (; born 8 December 2002) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a forward or an attacking midfielder for Liga I club Universitatea Cluj, on loan from Liga I club FCSB. Club career Early career Stoica started his career in 2009 in the academy of Petrolul Ploiești, the same year his father Pompiliu signed a professional contract with the club. He left Petrolul in 2016 when it folded, and then had a six-month spell with SC Freiburg in Germany before returning to his country with FCSB, also a former club of his father. FCSB and various loans Stoica made his senior debut for FCSB on 25 October 2017, aged 14, in a 6–1 away rout of Sănătatea Cluj in the Cupa României. Pompiliu Sorin Stoica (; born 10 September 1976) is a Romanian former footballer and currently assistant manager for Liga III club CSO Plopeni. Playing career Club Stoica started his senior career at hometown club Gloria Buzău, and went on to represent Astra Ploiești, Steaua București and Petrolul Ploiești in his country. 2020–21 Liga II
The 2020–21 Liga II (also known as 2020–21 Liga II Casa Pariurilor) was the 81st season of the Liga II, the second tier of the Romanian football league system. A total of 21 teams contested the league, instead of 20, due to the no relegation rule imposed in the previous season by the suspension of the league due to COVID-19 pandemic. It was the fifth Liga II season with a single series. In the regular season each team played every other team once, followed by a promotion play-off and a relegation play-out. The first two teams promoted to Liga I at the end of the season and the third-placed and fourth-placed team played a play-off match against the 13th-placed and 14th-placed team from Liga I. The Liga 2, most often spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07. The 2018–19 Liga I (also known as Liga 1 Betano for sponsorship reasons) was the 101st season of the Liga I, the top professional league for Romanian association football clubs. The season began on 20 July 2018 and ended on 2 June 2019, being the fourth to take place since the play-off/play-out rule has been introduced. Dunărea Călărași and Hermannstadt joined as the promoted clubs from the 2017–18 Liga II. A transfer window is the period during the year in which a football club can transfer players from other playing staff into their playing staff. Such a transfer is completed by registering the player into the new club through FIFA.
