FC UTA Arad
Asociația Fotbal Club UTA Arad (), commonly known as UTA Arad or simply UTA, is a Romanian professional football club based in the city of Arad, Arad County, which competes in the Liga I. The UTA acronym stands for ''Uzina Textilă Arad'' ("Textiles Factory of Arad"). Founded in 1945 as ''IT Arad'', the team has won six national titles and two Cupa României. Domestically, UTA is one of the most successful Romanian sides of the 20th century, sharing with Chinezul Timișoara the record for the most title wins outside Bucharest. This earned UTA the nickname of ''Campioana Provinciei'' ("the Provincial Champion"), which it lost at the conclusion of the 2020–21 season when newcomer CFR Cluj claimed its seventh Liga I trophy. Kit (association Football)
In association football, kit (also referred to as a strip or uniform) is the standard equipment and attire worn by players. The sport's rules specify the minimum kit which a player must use, and also prohibit the use of anything that is dangerous to either the player or another participant. Individual competitions may stipulate further restrictions, such as regulating the size of logos displayed on shirts and stating that, in the event of a match between teams with identical or similar colours, the away team must change to different coloured attire. Footballers generally wear identifying numbers on the backs of their shirts. Gyula Lóránt
Gyula Lóránt (born Gyula Lipovics, 6 February 1923 – 31 May 1981) was a Hungarian footballer and manager of Croatian descent. He played as a defender and midfielder for, among others, UTA Arad, Vasas SC, Honvéd and Hungary. During the 1950s, he was a prominent member of the legendary Hungarian national team known as the ''Mighty Magyars'', which also included Ferenc Puskás, Zoltán Czibor, Sándor Kocsis, József Bozsik and Nándor Hidegkuti. After retiring as a player, Lóránt became a coach, most notably with Honvéd, FC Bayern Munich and PAOK Thessaloniki FC. While at PAOK, he guided them to a Greek Championship title in 1976. On 31 May 1981, while still working as coach, he suffered a heart attack, watching PAOK play Olympiacos CFP and died at the game, aged 58. FC Carmen București
Carmen București is a Romanian football club based in Bucharest. In 2017, Carmen București was refounded and introduced in the Liga IV, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. In the summer of 2019, owner of Carmen bought Sportul Snagov and merged the two entities, following that in the summer of 2020 the club will be renamed as Carmen București. History Early period Carmen, which originally took the name of its owner, started to play in Liga III but when Liga I was reorganised after the war gained a place in the top league, as the team incorporated few of the best-known players at the time. Maccabi or Macabi București, later known as Ciocanul, was a Romanian sport club, representing the Jewish community, akin to the famous Hakoah Vienna. Named after the Maccabees and centering on football competitions, it was the first Jewish side to send a player, the goalkeeper Samuel Zauber, to the FIFA World Cup (at its 1930 edition in Uruguay). Gheorghe Albu
Gheorghe Albu (born 12 September 1909 in Arad, Austria-Hungary, (now in Romania) – died 26 June 1974 in Făgăraș, Brașov County, Romania) was a Romanian football player and manager. He was a part of Romania national football team which played at the 1934 FIFA World Cup. Player career Club career Albu started his career in 1924, playing as a youth for AMEF Arad until 1928. In 1929, he moved to another Arad-based team, Gloria CFR, and played the final of the Romanian Championship 1929–30, against Juventus București. Gloria CFR Arad lost the final, 0–3. Arsenal Stadium was a football stadium in Highbury, London, which was the home of Arsenal Football Club between 6 September 1913 and 7 May 2006. It was popularly known as "Highbury" due to its location and was given the affectionate nickname of the "Home of Football" by the club. It was originally built in 1913 on the site of a local college's recreation ground and was significantly redeveloped twice. The first reconstruction came in the 1930s from which the Art Deco East and West Stands date. Asociația Club Sportiv Poli Timișoara (), commonly known as ACS Poli Timișoara, Poli Timișoara or simply ACS Poli, was a Romanian professional football club based in the city of Timișoara, Timiș County. The team was founded in 2012, the year the old FC Politehnica Timișoara went bankrupt. ACS Recaș was moved to Timișoara and—supported by the City Council of Timișoara and the Timiș County Council—was meant to continue the history of the original entity. It promoted to the top flight in the 2013–14 season, however attendances were modest as the majority of the former fans chose to support ASU Politehnica Timișoara instead. The Polytechnic University of Timișoara ceased the FC Politehnica brand and records for free use to ACS Poli between 2012 and 2021, but then moved them to ASU Politehnica during the latter year.
