Ian Cliff
Ian Cameron Cliff (born 11 September 1952) is a British diplomat who has been Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Sudan, the OSCE and Kosovo, as well as Chargé d'Affaires in Croatia. Career Ian Cliff is the son of Gerald Shaw Cliff, who was Resident Engineer Trinity House 1925–65. Cliff was educated at Hampton Grammar School and Magdalen College, Oxford where he gained a degree in Modern History. He taught History for four years at Dr Challoner's Grammar School, Amersham, before joining the Diplomatic Service in 1979. After Arabic language training at St Andrews University and in Damascus he served at Khartoum and in Middle East-related posts in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. In 1989 he became 1st Secretary in the UK Mission to the United Nations in New York and in 1996 Deputy Head of Mission in the British Embassy to Austria. The North Norfolk Railway (NNR) – also known as the "Poppy Line" – is a heritage steam railway in Norfolk, England, running between the towns of Sheringham and Holt. Comprehensive Peace Agreement
The Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA, ar, اتفاقية السلام الشامل, Ittifāqiyyah al-salām al-šāmil), also known as the Naivasha Agreement, was an accord signed on January 9, 2005, by the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) and the Government of Sudan. The CPA was meant to end the Second Sudanese Civil War, develop democratic governance countrywide, and share oil revenues. It also set a timetable for a Southern Sudanese independence referendum. Jeremy John Durham Ashdown, Baron Ashdown of Norton-sub-Hamdon, (27 February 194122 December 2018), better known as Paddy Ashdown, was a British politician and diplomat who served as Leader of the Liberal Democrats from 1988 to 1999.
