Iain Stirling
Iain Andrew Stirling (born 27 January 1988) is a British comedian, writer, television presenter, actor, narrator and Twitch streamer from Edinburgh, Scotland. Stand-up career Having started stand-up whilst in his final year of Law at the University of Edinburgh, a year which saw him make the final of both the Paramount Funniest Student and Chortle Student Comedian Of The Year competitions, Stirling is a regular on the UK comedy circuit. Having been dubbed one of Scotland's 'Hottest Newcomers' by ''The Scotsman'' after his performance in front of 750 people at the Glasgow Fruitmarket, he now gigs all over the UK including The Stand (Edinburgh and Glasgow), The Comedy Store (Manchester and London), Off The Kerb and various smaller clubs. Chortle Student Comedian Of The Year
The Chortle Awards were set up in 2002 by the comedy website Chortle to honour the best of established stand-up comics currently working in the UK. Russell Howard's Good News
''Russell Howard's Good News'' was a British comedy and topical news television show which was broadcast on BBC Three between 2009 and 2014, and on BBC Two between 2014 and 2015. Hosted by comedian Russell Howard, it offered his commentary on the news of the week through mostly stand-up, along with sketches and humorous video clips, whilst also having guest appearances from people who have been featured in the media recently. It was made by independent production company Avalon Television and produced by Mark Iddon, Robyn O'Brien and David Howarth. Repeats of earlier episodes are also broadcast on Comedy Central, Dave and W. Mock The Week
''Mock the Week'' is a British topical satirical celebrity panel show, created by Dan Patterson and Mark Leveson. It was produced by Angst Productions for BBC Two, and was broadcast from 5 June 2005 to 4 November 2022. The programme was presented by Dara Ó Briain and featured regular appearances by comedian Hugh Dennis, as well as guest appearances by a variety of stand-up comedians, some of whom had regular appearances in several series. The format of the programme saw six comedians divided into two teams and performing on a faux game show, in which the quiz aspect of answering questions relating to major and regional news items, all taken from the week before each episode's filming, is sidelined to focus on satirical, topical discussions on news items, stand-up routines, and the use of improvisational comedy. Dodge The Dog
Warrick Brownlow-Pike (born 28 January 1985) is a British puppeteer. He is best known for performing the character "Gonger" on ''Sesame Street'' and its spinoff series ''The Furchester Hotel'' and Dodge the Dog on the CBeebies Channel. CBBC presenting Warrick was half of the 'Ed and Oucho' presenter duo for CBBC. Ed Petrie and Oucho the talking Cactus presented live afternoon continuity for the CBBC Channel on weekdays, from 15:25 to 19:00 from on 3 September 2007 until January 2010. In April 2010 he returned to present CBBC continuity performing 'Dodge the Dog', Hacker the Dog's half brother. Ed Petrie spoke about Oucho on his Twitter social networking page on 16/6/10. ''Scoop'' is a children's TV series first broadcast by the BBC on the CBBC channel from January 5, 2009 to August 10, 2011. The show stars Shaun Williamson as Digby Digworth, an ambitious but inept journalist for a fictional local newspaper, ''The Pilbury Post''. Each episode centres on Digby's failure to get a scoop, ending up causing mayhem and disaster instead. In each of these he is accompanied by Hacker, a dog. The show also stars Mark Benton as the newspaper's short-tempered editor, Max de Lacey and there are guest appearances by popular British TV actors such as Lesley Joseph and Mina Anwar who plays Selena Sharp, reporter for a rival paper. In one episode the famous children's writer J. K. Rowling is parodied as a novelist character called T. K. A hacker is a person skilled in information technology who uses their technical knowledge to achieve a goal or overcome an obstacle, within a computerized system by non-standard means. Joe Lycett
Joe Harry Lycett, also known by the self-given moniker Mummy, is an English comedian, painter and television presenter. Known for his sardonically camp style, whimsical public stunts and elaborate set designs, Lycett has been described as one of Britain's most popular comedians. Born in Hall Green, Birmingham and raised in Solihull, Lycett began performing stand-up in 2009 and won the Chortle Student Comedian of the Year the same year.
