ICAM (TV Series)
ICAM was an Australian television program focusing on Indigenous affairs that aired on SBS from 1995 until 2002. ICAM was the first Indigenous affairs program on SBS, and during its run was the only prime time Indigenous affairs program broadcast on national television in Australia. ICAM aired weekly and was hosted by Karla Grant. Production wound back in 2001, and Grant went on to develop ICAM's successor, ''Living Black''. Karla Grant
Karla Grant is an Australian presenter, producer and journalist for the Special Broadcasting Service, SBS's national Indigenous current affairs program ''Living Black'', focusing on issues concerning Indigenous Australians, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities within Australia. Biography Grant was born in Adelaide to a Dutch ethnic group, Dutch father and an Indigenous Australians, Aboriginal mother. She is a descendant of the Upper Arrernte language#Varieties, Western Arrernte people. Grant was married for 16 years to television presenter Stan Grant (journalist), Stan Grant until 2000. SBS is a national public television network in Australia. Launched on 24 October 1980, it is the responsibility of SBS's television division, and is available nationally. In 2018, SBS had a 7.7% audience share. As of 2022, SBS is the lowest-rated television network in Australia, behind the Seven Network, the Nine Network, ABC TV and Network 10. ''Living Black'' is a current affairs (news format), current affairs program aired on SBS (Australian TV channel), SBS, Australia, addressed primarily to the interests of Australia's Indigenous Australians, indigenous community. Karla Grant has been executive producer of this program, which she developed, since 2002. She has also been fronting the show since 2004. The annual Walkley Awards are presented in Australia to recognise and reward excellence in journalism. They cover all media including print, television, documentary, radio, photographic and online media. The Gold Walkley is the highest prize and is chosen from all category winners.
