Izzet Mehmed Pasha
Izzet Mehmed Pasha (1723 – February 1784, Belgrade) was an Ottoman statesman who served as the Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire twice, first from 1774 to 1775, and second from 1781 to 1782. Safranbolulu Izzet Mehmet Pasha
Safranbolulu Izzet Mehmet Pasha (1743 – 18 September 1812) was a grand vizier of the Ottoman Empire and served from 1794 to 1798. Izzet Mehmet Pasha was born in Safranbolu (today in Karabük Province, Turkey). His uncle was Kapudan Pasha (grand admiral) . Izzet Mehmed Pasha came to Istanbul in 1759/60 to work with him. In 1778, he married Halil Hamid Pasha's daughter, becoming his son-in-law. He then served as the Ottoman governor of Jeddah (1787–1790), Morea (1790–1791), and Egypt (May 1791 – September 1794). On 19 October 1794, he was appointed grand vizier by sultan Selim III. He was dismissed on 30 August 1798 and exiled to Chios (now a Greek island), and then to Manisa. He died in Manisa on 19 September 1812. Legacy Izzet Mehmet commissioned a watchtower in 1797 and a mosque in 1798 in his hometown of Safranbolu (see İzzet Mehmet Pasha Mosque). Izzet Ahmed Pasha (1798 – 20 February 1876), also known as Ahmed Izzet Pasha or Hacı Izzet Pasha or Hakkı Paşazâde Izzet Pasha, was an Ottoman statesman who held a lengthy series of provincial governorships from 1841 to 1870. He was also a vizier (made on 20 September 1845). Early in his career, Izzet Ahmed Pasha was first ''kapıcıbaşı'' ( master of ceremonies) at the imperial palace in Constantinople (modern Istanbul) and later the voivode of the Sanjak of Sivas. He was then made a '' ferik'' (Lieutenant General) in the Ottoman army. Ahmad Izzat Pasha bin Hawlu Pasha al-Abid ( ar, أَحمَد عِزَّت بَاشَا ابْنِ هَوْلُو بَاشَا الْعَابِد, translit=Ahmed İzzet Bâşâ bin Hevlû Bâşâ el-Âbid; tr, Holo Paşa'nın oğlu Ahmed İzzet Paşa el-Abid or ; 1851–1924), nicknamed Izzat Pasha the Arab ( tr, link=no, Arap İzzet Paşa), was a Syrian entrepreneur who became Second Secretary and confidant of Ottoman Sultan Abdulhamid II. He is considered to have been "one of the most powerful" statesmen during the last decade of Abdulhamid's rule. Life Ahmad Izzat al-Abid was born in Damascus. His father was Hawlu Pasha al-Abid. Ahmad Izzat was educated in Beirut. He spoke Arabic, French and Turkish. He moved to Istanbul where he served the Ottoman sultan, Abdulhamid II as an adviser. He left the Ottoman Empire following the Young Turk Revolution in 1908 and moved to London for some time before living in France and Switzerland. He then left for Egypt, where he died in 1924. ...
