Izmaylovskaya (Moscow Metro)
Izmaylovskaya (russian: Измайловская) is a Moscow Metro station on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line. It is one of the few surface level stations of the system. Moscow's harsh winters make above-ground stations impractical , but the design nonetheless enjoyed brief popularity between 1958 and 1966 because of the low construction costs. Izmaylovskaya was built in 1961 to replace the old Pervomayskaya station, which had been in use since 1954. The design of the station features an elevated vestibule, reached from the street via two flights of steps, which sits on top of the ground-level platform. Moscow Metro Station
There are 250 active stations of the Moscow Metro. Of these, 209 on Moscow Metro proper, and some additional ones that are marketed by Moscow Metro: 6 stations of Moscow Monorail and 31 stations of the Moscow Central Circle. Two stations have been closed. As of 2017 several new stations are under construction or being planned. One station is reserved for future service ( Delovoy Tsentr for the Bolshaya Koltsevaya line). Izmaylovo District
Izmaylovo District (russian: райо́н Изма́йлово) is a district in the Eastern Administrative Okrug of the federal city of Moscow, Russia. Population: It is a historical part of Moscow, the ancestral land of the Romanov noble family. History The history of the village of Izmaylovo goes back to 1389. Since the days of Ivan the Terrible it was an estate of boyars in the Romanov family. In 1654, it was inherited by Alexis of Russia, who built a château on an artificial island around 1664—1690. At about the same time, in 1671—1679, a medieval church was rebuilt into ''Church of Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos''. The château was later expanded by architects Konstantin Thon and Mikhail Bykovsky into Izmaylovo Estate. It survived the fire of 1812, and is now an outdoor tourist destination. Pervomayskaya (closed)
Pervomayskaya (russian: Первомайская - ''may 1st'') was a temporary station on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line of the Moscow Metro in use between 1954 and 1961. It was closed after being replaced by a permanent station, Izmaylovsky Park (now Izmaylovskaya). Pervomaskaya was located in the Izmaylovo depot, which was built in 1950. Out of necessity the depot had been built east of Izmaylovskaya (now Partizanskaya), since this was the only shallow-level station on the line. However, because of the dense residential area and natural parkland surrounding Partizanskaya, the depot had to be built at a significant distance from the station, about 1.5 km away in the Izmailovo residential district. For this reason, it was decided to establish a temporary station within the depot itself until a permanent station, which was planned for the early 1960s, was completed. Izmaylovsky Park
Izmaylovsky Park or Izmaylovo Park is one of the largest parks in Moscow, Russia. The park consists of two areas: Izmaylovsky forest and Izmaylovsky Park for recreation. It is situated in the Izmaylovo District in the northeast of the city. The northern border of the park is the tram line alongside the Izmailovskaya station of the Moscow Metro that serves the park, the southern is the Entuziastov Highway.
