Itır Esen (Miss Turkey)
The Miss Turkey 2017 held on September 21, 2017 in the Grand Hotel de Pera in Istanbul, Turkey concluded with the crowning of Itır Esen as the Miss World Turkey 2017. Miss Turkey organizers said the 18-year-old Itir Esen was dethroned on Friday, a day after she won the contest and the right to represent Turkey at the Miss World contest in China. The organizers said in an emailed statement that her title was revoked because of a tweet in July that they described as unacceptable. Runner-up Asli Sumen will now represent Turkey in China and also Pınar Tartan who was crowned Miss Supranational Turkey 2017 will now compete at Miss Universe 2017 after this dethroned happened. Aslı Sümen
Aslı Sümen is a Turkish actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was selected as Miss Turkey 2017. Aslı Sümen was born in Mersin in , and graduated from Middle East Technical University in Business Administration. She is a dancer and a model. Itır Esen was originally selected as Miss Turkey 2017 and Aslı Sümen was a runner up, but Esen was dethroned after a controversial tweet about the 2016 Turkish coup d'état attempt. Sümen was enthroned as Miss Turkey 2017 and represented Turkey at Miss World 2017 on 18 November 2017. The pageant was founded in 1929, where the winners titled as Miss Turkey Universe, Miss Turkey World and Miss Turkey Supranational. Miss Universe 2017
Miss Universe 2017 was the 66th Miss Universe pageant, held at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States on November 26, 2017. At the end of the event, Iris Mittenaere of France crowned Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa as Miss Universe 2017. It is South Africa's first victory in almost 4 decades, and the second victory of the country in the pageant's history. Contestants from 92 countries and territories competed in this year's pageant, surpassing the previous record of 89 contestants in 2011 and 2012. The pageant was hosted by Steve Harvey in his third consecutive year, and supermodel Ashley Graham. ''Yasemin'' is a 1988 German-language film directed by Hark Bohm. The international co-production of Turkey and West Germany was chosen as West Germany's official submission to the 61st Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film, but didn't obtain a nomination.
