Itäkeskus Metro Station
Itäkeskus metro station (, - "Eastern Center") is a ground-level station on the Helsinki Metro. The station was built on the grounds of the shopping center Itis, and serves the quarter of Itäkeskus in the neighborhood of Vartiokylä in East Helsinki. There are 240 bicycle and 420 car parking spaces at the station. Itäkeskus is served by both M1 and M2 and acts as an exchange station between the two, as it is the easternmost station to be shared by both lines. Itäkeskus is one of the original stations on the system, and was opened on 1 June 1982. It was designed by Jaakko Ylinen and Jarmo Maunula. Itäkeskus is located 2.1 kilometers east of Siilitie metro station, 1.9 kilometers south of Myllypuro metro station, and 1.0 kilometers south-west of Puotila metro station. Itäkeskus station is unique in the sense that it is the only station on the Helsinki metro that has 3 platforms. The Helsinki Metro ( fi, Helsingin metro, sv, Helsingfors metro) is a rapid transit system serving Greater Helsinki, Finland. It is the world's northernmost metro system. Myllypuro metro station (, - "Mill Creek") is a ground-level station on lines M2 (Tapiola - Mellunmäki) and M2M ( Matinkylä - Mellunmäki) of the Helsinki Metro. There are 97 bicycle and 40 car parking spaces at Myllypuro. The station serves the quarter of Myllypuro in East Helsinki. Kalasatama Metro Station
Kalasatama metro station ( fi, Kalasataman metroasema, sv, Fiskehamnens metrostation - "Fish Harbor") is a ground-level station on the Helsinki Metro, in the capital city of Finland. The station was opened on 1 January 2007, and it serves the eastern part of the central Helsinki district of Sörnäinen's quarter Kalasatama. The area is mainly composed of offices and apartments, with new residential and commercial developments being under construction in the area, including the shopping center Redi. The port facilities previously in the area were moved to Vuosaari Harbour in 2008. Unlike most other stations on the Helsinki Metro, Kalasatama was built while the metro was still running, which made construction difficult. Matinkylä
Matinkylä (; sv, Mattby, ; both literally translated the "village of Matt/ Matti") is one of the major districts of Espoo, a city on the southern coast of Finland. Matinkylä sits between the Länsiväylä highway and the coast of the Gulf of Finland, between the areas of Haukilahti and Iivisniemi. The middle part of Matinkylä consists of high apartment buildings, whereas the southern part consists of terraced houses and shorter apartment buildings. There are also some detached houses and paired houses in the area. Iirislahti in eastern Matinkylä, as well as Nuottalahti, Nuottaniemi and Koukkuniemi in southern Matinkylä consist of smaller houses. Mellunmäki
Mellunmäki ( sv, Mellungsbacka) (Slang: ''Meltsi'') has been a quarter of eastern Helsinki, Finland since 1946. Serious construction of the area began in 1950 and it was originally designed for 7000 inhabitants. There are over 8500 inhabitants in the area today (2013). Apart from the grocery stores Mellunmäki does not offer many services. Most people visit Kontula or Itäkeskus for services not offered by their home district. Vuosaari
Vuosaari ( sv, Nordsjö) is a neighbourhood in the City of Helsinki, Finland. It is located by the sea in East Helsinki and with its area of is geographically the largest district in the city. It also has two Helsinki Metro stations, Rastila and Vuosaari Vuosaari is one of the fastest-growing areas in Helsinki. The number of inhabitants has been increasing rapidly since early 1990s and it continues to grow as new residential areas are being built. Among other things, Vuosaari is noted for its nature and large, relatively unspoilt recreational seashore areas. One of these is Uutela, a popular nature park located in the southeastern corner of Vuosaari. Puotila metro station (, ) is a ground-level cut-and-cover metro station on the M1 line of the Helsinki Metro. There are 200 bicycle and 331 car parking spaces at Puotila. Siilitie metro station (, - "Hedgehog Way") is a ground-level station on the Helsinki Metro. It serves the northern part of the district of Herttoniemi in East Helsinki. The Helsinki Metro is a metro system in Helsinki, Finland. It was opened on 2 August 1982 and remains the only metro system in Finland and the furthest north in the world. East Helsinki
East Helsinki ( fi, Itä-Helsinki, sv, Östra Helsingfors) is an area in Helsinki, Finland, usually thought to comprise the city's eastern and south-eastern major districts (, ), including the districts of Vartiokylä, Myllypuro, Mellunkylä, Vuosaari, Herttoniemi, Laajasalo and Kulosaari.
