Italian Road Cycling Cup
The Italian Road Cycling Cup ( it, Coppa Italia di ciclismo) is a season-long road bicycle racing competition which consists of a number of standalone Italian races. History The competition was established in 2007 and is open to all riders who ride with an Italian-licensed team. The current format of the Italian Cycling Cup groups all Italian one-day and stages races of HC and first category, i.e. all races just below UCI World Tour level. Since 2016 the competition also includes the time trial and road race of the Italian national championships. In each race, the top 20 riders score points and the rider scoring the most points in total is crowned the Italian Cycling Cup champion. Separate classifications are held for the best young rider and the best team. The winning team used to receive a wildcard invitation for the Giro d'Italia the following season. Road bicycle racing is the cycle sport discipline of road cycling, held primarily on Road surface, paved roads. Diego Ulissi (born 15 July 1989) is an Italian road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Ulissi is a versatile, all-round cyclist who often wins stages and one-day races from breakaways and over hilly terrain. The British Cycling Premier Calendar Road Race Series is a season-long competition run by British Cycling. It comprises a series of road bicycle races for the country's top domestic road riders. Organisation and events In 2010 points were awarded for the first 20 places in each single day road race and for the top 20 overall in stage races as follows: 100, 85, 75, 66, 58, 51, 45, 39, 34, 29, 25, 21, 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2. For each stage of a stage race (including prologues) the top 15 riders are awarded points as follows: 30, 25, 21, 17, 14, 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. French Road Cycling Cup
The French Road Cycling Cup (English for Coupe de France de cyclisme sur route) is a road bicycle racing competition under the Fédération Francaise de Cyclisme (French Cycling Federation) each year since 1992. It consists of a number of one-day races in France each year. Each of these races is open for all riders, but until 2015 only French riders and riders who were part of a French team were able to score points for the French Road Cycling Cup. As of 2016, all riders score points. The team competition remains a contest between the French teams only. Belgian Road Cycling Cup
The Belgian Road Cycling Cup (also known as Lotto Cycling Cup after its sponsor) is a road bicycle racing competition established in 2016 and consists of a number of standalone one-day races, mostly in Belgium but since 2022 some are held as well in the Netherlands. In each race, the top 15 riders score points and the rider scoring the most points in total is crowned the Belgian Cycling Cup champion. A separate classification was kept for the best youngster and best team, but these have been cancelled since 2017 and 2018 respectively. The lead sponsor changed regularly throughout the years, causing the official name to change often as well: from 2016 to 2018 it was known as the ''Napoleon Games Cycling Cup'', from 2019 to 2021 as the ''Bingoal Cycling Cup'', in 2022 as the ''Exterioo Cycling Cup'', and since 2023 as the Lotto Cycling Cup. Domenico Pozzovivo
Domenico Pozzovivo (born 30 November 1982) is an Italian professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . His very small stature confer him with the qualities of a pure climbing specialist. He is most known for a victory in stage 8 of the 2012 Giro d'Italia, an overall victory in the 2012 Giro del Trentino, and is notable for his educational attainments. Personal life Pozzovivo has a degree in economics and wrote a thesis entitled "Southern politics from the unity of Italy up to the present day". His educational attainments have earned him the nickname "Dr. Pozzovivo" in the peloton. Giovanni Visconti (born 13 January 1983) is an Italian professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . Professional career Early career Born in Turin, Visconti won his first race in 2006 at the Coppa Sabatini. Danilo Di Luca (born 2 January 1976) is a former Italian professional road racing cyclist, best known for winning the 2007 Giro d'Italia, but also for several positive doping tests, the last of which resulting in a lifetime ban from the sport. Di Luca is also one of six riders to have won each of the three Ardennes classics; he won the Amstel Gold Race and La Flèche Wallonne in 2005, and Liège–Bastogne–Liège in 2007.
