Alba Arnova
Alba Arnova (15 March 1930 – 11 March 2018) was an Italian-Argentine ballerina and film actress. Life and career Born in Buenos Aires as Alba Fossati, daughter of two Italian emigrants, Arnova studied piano at the Conservatory and enrolled in the university at the medical faculty. She became the principal classical dancer of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and changed her surname first to Ars Nova and then to Arnova. She left Argentina in 1948, for a six months stage tour, and eventually remained in Rome, where she worked first in theater as a classical dancer and as a revue and avanspettacolo soubrette. She began acting in films in 1949, though usually in minor roles. In 1956 Arnova created a controversy when she appeared on the RAI television variety show ''La piazzetta'' wearing a tight leotard that made her appear semi-nude because of the lighting effects and the black-and-white system. Laura Antonelli ( Antonaz; 28 November 1941 – 22 June 2015) was an Italian film actress who appeared in 45 films between 1964 and 1991. Early years Antonelli was born Laura Antonaz in Pola, Kingdom of Italy (in Croatian, Pula), former capital of Istria. After the war, her parents fled what was then Yugoslavia, lived in Italian refugee camps and eventually settled in Naples, where her father found work as a hospital administrator. Antonelli had a childhood interest in mathematics, but as a teenager, she became proficient at gymnastics. In an interview for ''The New York Times'', she recalled, "My parents had made me take hours of gym classes during my teens ... They felt I was ugly, clumsy, insignificant and they hoped I would at least develop some grace. I became very good, especially in rhythmical gym, which is a kind of dance." Rosina Anselmi
Rosina Anselmi ( 26 July 1880 – 23 May 1965) was an Italian stage, television and film actress. She was a prominent actress in the Sicilian language theater, especially in the province of Catania. Life and career Born in Caltagirone, Catania into a family of stage actors, Anselmi began acting with her father Alessandro, then with Nino Martoglio in some comedies written by him. She then joined the stage company of Mimi Aguglia, another important actress of the Sicilian repertoire, with whom she toured in North America. Anselmi went back to Sicily in 1910, and in 1914 she became the first actress, in spite of her status of a great character actress, alongside Angelo Musco with whom she acted for about thirty years, until Musco's death. Ambra Angiolini (born 22 April 1977, in Rome) is an Italian actress and singer. She made her film debut in Ferzan Özpetek's ''Saturn in Opposition'' (2007) for which she won the David di Donatello for Best Supporting Actress as well as the Nastro d'Argento for Best Supporting Actress, the Ciak d'oro and the Globo d'oro. Luciana Angiolillo
Luciana Angiolillo (22 December 1925 – 30 November 2014) was an Italian actress and model, known for her career in peplum classic films. Life and career Born Luciana Nevi in Rome, Angiolillo started her career as a runway model. She made her film debut thanks to the friendship of Ennio Flaiano, who suggested her to the director Luciano Emmer for the role of an upper class lady in '' Camilla''. From then she appeared in a number of films, often in stereotypal roles of snobbish bourgeois ladies. Gradually relegated to secondary roles, Angiolillo eventually devoted herself to the direction of a fashion house owned by her. Angiolillo died on November 30, 2014.
