Ismail Juma
Ismail Juma (3 August 1991 – 3 November 2017) was a Tanzanian long-distance runner. Career He competed in the 10,000 metres event at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China, but did not finish. Juma won the Kilimanjaro half marathon in 2015, and the Istanbul Half Marathon The Istanbul Half Marathon ( tr, İstanbul Yarı Maratonu) is an annual road running event over the half marathon distance (21.1 km) that takes place on the streets of Istanbul, Turkey in April. The event is sponsored by Vodafone. It was prom ... in 2017, setting a new record of 1:00:09. As of November 2017, holds the Tanzanian national half marathon record of 59min 30sec. Death Juma died in November 2017 after being involved in a motorcycle accident. At the time of his death, he had been selected as one of the athletes training for the Commonwealth Games in Australia. Long-distance running, or endurance running, is a form of continuous running over distances of at least . Physiologically, it is largely aerobic in nature and requires stamina as well as mental strength. Within endurance running comes two different types of respiration. The more prominent side that runners experience more frequently is aerobic respiration. 2015 World Championships In Athletics
The 2015 IAAF World Championships ( zh, 第十五届世界田径锦标赛), the fifteenth edition of the IAAF World Championships, were held from 22 to 30 August at the National Stadium in Beijing, China. Forty-three nations won medals, 144 of which were awarded. Kenya topped the medal table for the first time, with 7 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals. The United States won 18 medals, six gold, six silver and six bronze, which was the highest tally. Host nation China, finished 11th on the medals table, while Russia finished ninth. 205 IAAF member countries and territories participated, two more than in 2013, with new IAAF member, Kosovo, making its debut. The Istanbul Half Marathon ( tr, İstanbul Yarı Maratonu) is an annual road running event over the half marathon distance (21.1 km) that takes place on the streets of Istanbul, Turkey in April.
