Ishaq Gailani
Pir Ishaq Gailani (born 1954) is a member of Afghanistan's national legislature, the Wolesi Jirga. He founded the National Solidarity Movement of Afghanistan. His family includes a number of Sufi religious leaders. Pir Ishaq Gailani has a nephew, Pir Sayed Ishaq Gailani, who has also been elected to the Wolesi Jirga, from Paktika Province, but for a different political party. His grandson, Sayed Mohmood Hasamuddeen Al-Gailani, also served in the Wolesi Jirga, representing Ghazni Ghazni ( prs, غزنی, ps, غزني), historically known as Ghaznain () or Ghazna (), also transliterated as Ghuznee, and anciently known as Alexandria in Opiana ( gr, Αλεξάνδρεια Ωπιανή), is a city in southeastern Afghanistan .... Pir (Sufism)
Peer or Pir ( fa, پیر, lit=elder) is a title for a Sufi spiritual guide. They are also referred to as a ''Hazrat'' (from ar, حضرة, Haḍra) and ''Sheikh (Sufism), Sheikh'' or Shaykh, which is literally the Arabic equivalent. The title is often translated into English as "saint." In Sufism a Pir's role is to guide and instruct his disciples on the Sufi path. This is often done by general lessons (called ''Suhbas'') and individual guidance. Other words that refer to a Pir include ''Murshid'' ( ar, مرشد, lit=guide, mentor) and ''Sarkar'' ( fa, سرکار, lit=master, lord). The House of Representatives of the People, or Da Afghanistan Wolesi Jirga ( ps, دَ افغانستان ولسي جرګه), was the lower house of the bicameral National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, alongside the upper House of Elders. The House of Representatives of the People was the chamber that bore the greater burden of lawmaking in the country, as with the House of Commons in the Westminster model. Pir Sayed Ishaq Gailani
Sayed Ishaq Gailani (born 1954) is a politician in Afghanistan representing Paktika province in the Wolesi Jirga, Afghanistan's lower house of parliament. He is the founder and chairman of the National Solidarity Movement of Afghanistan and currently serves on the Wolesi Jirga's International Relations committee. While still an influential member of the Gailani family, he has claimed leadership of the family and adopted the title Pir. Some of his family recognizes his uncle, Ahmed Gailani, as the leader of the family and the Qadiriyya Sufi order. The resulting dispute has created a feud between the two men.
