Isabel Grevelt
Isabel Grevelt (born 11 April 2002) is a Dutch allround speed skater. Career Grevelt won the 500 m gold medal at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics which took place at Lake St. Moritz in St. Moritz, Switzerland . On 30 October 2022 she qualified for the ISU Speed Skating World Cup series after finishing fifth at the 1000 m during the national qualification tournament. She made her World Cup debut in the 1000 m B-division at the Sørmarka Arena in Stavanger, Norway and won the race, resulting in a promotion to the A-division. Alkmaar
Alkmaar () is a city and municipality in the Netherlands, located in the province of North Holland, about 30 km north of Amsterdam. Alkmaar is well known for its traditional cheese market. Speed skating is a competitive form of ice skating in which the competitors racing, race each other in travelling a certain distance on Ice skate, skates. Speed skating at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics took place at Lake St. Moritz in St. Moritz, Switzerland from 12 to 16 January 2020. Unique to the Youth Olympic Games is a mixed NOC team sprint competition. The ISU Speed Skating World Cup is a series of international speed skating competitions, organised annually by the International Skating Union since the winter of 1985–86 ISU Speed Skating World Cup, 1985–86. Every year during the winter season, a number of competitions on different distances and on different locations are held. Skaters can earn points at each competition, and the skater who has the most points on a given distance at the end of the series is the winner. Initially not very popular with skaters nor spectators, the World Cup has gradually become more and more popular, and this was due to the creation of the World Single Distance Championships. Thialf
Thialf is an ice arena in Heerenveen, Netherlands. Thialf consists of the Thialf-hal (a 12,500-capacity speed skating venue) and the Elfstedenhal (a 2,500-capacity ice hockey venue). Thialf is used for long track speed skating, short track speed skating, ice hockey, figure skating, ice speedway, and non-sporting events. Jutta Leerdam (born 30 December 1998) is a Dutch speed skater specializing in the sprint events. Career Leerdam became the junior world champion at the 2017 World Junior Championships in Helsinki, Finland. The following year, at the 2018 Championships in Salt Lake City, United States, she finished second behind compatriot Joy Beune. During the 2017–18 season, she won the ISU Junior World Cup competition in the 1000m and 1500m events. She also became the Dutch junior sprint champion. Miho Takagi (speed Skater)
is a Japanese speed skater. She has won a total of seven medals at the Olympics, two of them gold. Career At the age of 15, Takagi represented Japan at the 2010 Winter Olympics, finishing 35th in the women's 1000 metres and 23rd in the 1500 metres. In 2012 and 2013, she won the World Junior Speed Skating Championships. The Utah Olympic Oval is an indoor speed skating oval located southwest of Salt Lake City, in Kearns, Utah. The Oval was built for the 2002 Winter Olympics and it hosted the long track speed skating events for the 2002 games. Inside the facility the 400 meter skating track surrounds two international sized ice sheets, and is itself surrounded by a 442 meter running track.
