History Irwinton was founded in 1811 as the seat of Wilkinson County. The community was named for Governor Jared Irwin. Irwinton was incorporated as a town in 1816 and as a city in 1904. Alvin "Bud" Dupree Jr. (born February 12, 1993) is an American football outside linebacker for the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Kentucky, and was drafted in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. High school career Dupree attended Wilkinson County High School in Irwinton, Georgia. He was a three-year starter at defensive end and four-year starter at tight end. As a senior, he had over 1,000 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on offense and 62 tackles and 10 sacks on defense.
