Irene Dick
Irene Dick (born 28 November 1949) is a Curaçaoan politician. A member of the Sovereign People, she was Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport from 23 December 2013 until 23 December 2016. Dick replaced Ivar Asjes, who held the office while concurrently Prime Minister since the resignation of Rubia Bitorina. Career Dick was born on 28 November 1949 in Willemstad. Before her term as Minister she had a career in education and was director of the Fundashon Material pa Skol (FMS). In June 2015 Dick faced criticism from high school students and their parents after raising the possibility to deviate Curaçaoan exam standards from those in the Netherlands. Dick later retracted a letter she had sent to school boards and argued for a national dialogue on education. After the resignation of Asjes, Dick stayed on as Minister during the first two cabinets of Ben Whiteman. Rubia Bitorina
''Rubia'' is the type genus of the Rubiaceae family of flowering plants, which also contains coffee. It contains around 80 species of perennial scrambling or climbing herbs and subshrubs native to the Old World. The genus and its best-known species are commonly known as madder, e.g. ''Rubia tinctorum'' (common madder), ''Rubia peregrina'' (wild madder), and ''Rubia cordifolia'' (Indian madder). Uses ''Rubia'' was an economically important source of a red pigment in many regions of Asia, Europe and Africa. The genus name ''Rubia'' derives from the Latin ' meaning "red". The plant's roots contain an anthracene compound called alizarin that gives its red colour to a textile dye known as Rose madder. It was also used as a colourant, especially for paint, that is referred to as Madder lake. The synthesis of alizarin greatly reduced demand for the natural compound. Ivar Onno Odwin Asjes (born 16 September 1970 in Rotterdam) is a Curaçaoan politician who served as the 4th Prime Minister of Curaçao from 7 June 2013 to 31 August 2015. Ben Whiteman
Bernard "Ben" Denzil Whiteman (born 20 August 1954) is a Curaçaoan politician who served as the 5th Prime Minister of Curaçao from September 2015 to December 2016. He succeeded Ivar Asjes after Asjes resigned after he lost the confidence of his party. Whiteman was sworn in as Prime Minister on 1 September 2015. He also was the Minister of Public Health, Environment and Nature since 31 December 2012 in the Asjes-Cabinet and the Hodge-Cabinet before taking the post, retaining the position after becoming prime minister. Prime Minister Whiteman took on the post of Prime Minister with the intent of staying in office for three months, to allow his party to search for a successor. Hensley Felix Koeiman (born 21 May 1956) is a Curaçaoan politician who served as the 6th Prime Minister of Curaçao between 23 December 2016 and 24 March 2017. A member of the Partido MAN, he was Minister of Social Affairs, Employment and Welfare in the Gerrit Schotte cabinet (October 2010 – September 2012). Afterwards Koeiman served in the Parliament of Curaçao from the 2012 general election until his appointment as Prime Minister.
