Irene Aguilar
Dr. Irene Aguilar (born April 5, 1960) is a former Democratic member of the Colorado Senate. She represented the 32nd district from 2011 to early 2019. Her district encompassed part of the city of Denver, Colorado. Personal life and education Born in Chicago, Illinois, Aguilar completed her undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis. She received a medical degree from University of Chicago- Pritzker School of Medicine. Career Aguilar was appointed by Governor Romer to the Colorado Board of Medical Examiners in 1993, where she served for eight years. She has since continued to serve the board as a consultant. She was appointed to her first term in the State Senate in December 2010 after being chosen by a vacancy committee to replace Sen. Colorado's 32nd Senate District
Colorado's 32nd Senate district is one of 35 districts in the Colorado Senate. It has been represented by Democrat Robert Rodriguez since 2019, succeeding fellow Democrat Irene Aguilar. Geography District 32 covers southern and southwestern Denver. The district is located entirely within Colorado's 1st congressional district, and overlaps with the 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th, and 9th districts of the Colorado House of Representatives. Recent election results Colorado state senators are elected to staggered four-year terms; under normal circumstances, the 32nd district holds elections in midterm years. Chris Romer (born 1959) is a former American politician from the U.S. state of Colorado. Elected to the Colorado State Senate as a Democrat in 2006, he represented Senate District 32, which encompasses south Denver. As of 2022, Romer is the CEO of Project Canary, an independent certification organization that measures, tracks, and delivers ESG data across the energy value chain.
