Iranian Science and Culture Hall of Fame or Ever-lasting Names / People ( fa, چهرههای ماندگار; read as "Čehre-hā-ye Māndegār") is a formal ceremony to honor influential contemporary scientific and cultural Eminents. The title is awarded to those who "will remain always alive with its impact on the life of the people of the country". The ceremony is hosted by the IRIB. Annemarie Schimmel (7 April 1922 – 26 January 2003) was an influential German Orientalist and scholar who wrote extensively on Islam, especially Sufism. She was a professor at Harvard University from 1967 to 1992. Early life and education Schimmel was born to Protestant and highly cultured middle-class parents in Erfurt, Germany. Her father Paul was a postal worker and her mother Anna belonged to a family with connections to seafaring and international trade. Roger Garaudy (; 17 July 1913 – 13 June 2012) was a French philosopher, French resistance fighter and a communist author. He converted to Islam in 1982. In 1998, he was convicted and fined for Holocaust denial under French law for claiming that the death of six million Jews was a "myth". Gholamreza Aavani (born 1943) is an Iranian philosopher and emeritus professor of philosophy at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran. Mohammad Nouri ( fa, محمد نوری , December 22, 1929 – July 31, 2010) was one of the foremost folk and pop singers in Iran. Before the 1979 Iranian Revolution, Nouri was relatively unknown among Iranian pop music lovers mainly because his string orchestral pop tunes hardly fit for disco and party entertainment, not to mention little exposure and publicity efforts on his part. Ali Nassirian ( fa, علی نصیریان; born 4 February 1935) is an Iranian actor and director. He has received various accolades, including a Crystal Simorgh and a Hafez Award.
