Iraklio OAA B.C. (Greek: Ηράκλειο OAA KAE), also known simply as Iraklio, or Heraklion, is a Greek professional basketball club that is based in the city of Heraklion, on the island of Crete, in Greece. It is a department of the ''Heraklion Tennis and Team Sports Club'' (Greek: Όμιλος Αντισφαιρίσεως και Αθλοπαιδιών - OAA - «Ηράκλειο»), a multi-sport club established in Heraklion in 1928. The club's basketball department was founded in 1968, and currently competes in the Cretan Basket League, hosting its home games at the Heraklion Indoor Sports Arena, a multi-purpose indoor arena with a capacity of 5,500 spectators. Heraklion Indoor Sports Arena
Heraklion Indoor Sports Arena, or simply, Heraklion Arena, is a multi-purpose indoor arena that is located in the city of Heraklion, on the island of Crete, in Greece. It is located in a district called Dyo Aorakia (English: Two Aorakia). The arena can be used to host gymnastics, handball, volleyball, basketball, boxing, wrestling, fencing, badminton, table tennis, Judo, MMA, and weightlifting, with its primary use being to host basketball games. The seating capacity of the arena for basketball games is 5,222 with permanent tier seating, and up to 5,500, including seats for the media, with temporary tier seating. The Greek Basketball Cup or Hellenic Basketball Cup (Greek language, Greek: Κύπελλο Ελλάδος καλαθοσφαίρισης ανδρών) is the top-tier level annual pro basketball national cup competition in Greece. It is organized by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.). History and format There were no official nation-wide Greek Cup competitions prior to the 1975–76 season. However, there was a precursor tournament to the Greek Cup, called the Attica State Cup, which was won by AEK Athens B.C., AEK, in the 1966–67 and 1970–71 seasons. Willie Burton
Willie Ricardo Burton (born May 26, 1968) is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Miami Heat in the first round (9th overall pick) in the 1990 NBA draft from the University of Minnesota. Burton played for numerous NBA teams as a journeyman from 1990 to 1999. He also played in Europe for several seasons. He was born in Detroit where he attended high school at St. Martin De Porres. The 1992 NBA draft took place on June 24, 1992, at Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon. The draft is considered to be one of the deepest in NBA history. The top three picks (Shaquille O'Neal, Alonzo Mourning, Christian Laettner) were considered can't-miss prospects. O'Neal and Mourning are Hall of Famers; O'Neal and Mourning are (individual) player-inducted. Oliver Miller
Oliver J. Miller (born April 6, 1970) is an American former professional basketball player. He was nicknamed "The Big O" because of his large size ( and well over throughout his pro career). Miller played college basketball at the University of Arkansas and was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 1992. After his initial stint in the NBA from 1992 to 1998, where he became the heaviest player in league history, Miller played overseas and for semi-professional American teams.
